"What is the correlation between the 5,6 or 7 numbers that roll over and the fact that most of us only hit 5, 6 or 7 numbers?"

The odds of matching 5,6 or 7 are 1:4 and 1:3.  Most players hit what is the easiest, if you want to win more only play the harder combinations. Wink

You're Welcome!

When I first started predicting AorN, I divided the 24 numbers into four groups of 6 and combined them into four sets. By doing that it created a mathematical effect by matching 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 numbers, one of the other tickets matches 4, 3, 2, 1, or 0 numbers.

The strategy is very similar to abbreviated wheels that can produce multiple secondary prizes with only a small percentage chance of winning the jackpot.

I posted predictions for AON for a while to get my prediction average up but I just used the LP RNG since the overall average of winning a prize was 1:4.5.

I looked at jackpot games played in Ohio and based on their odds and payouts and calculated what one could expect to win if they spent a $100.

GAME                      JACKPOT ODDS      OVERALL ODDS       EXPECTED WINNINGS
      Classic Lotto(6/49)          1:13,983,816      1:53.6             2 wins for $4
      Rolling Cash5(5/39)          1:575,575         1:8.7              11 wins for $20
      Lucky for Life(5/48+1/18)    1:30,821,472      1:7.7              6 wins for $23
      MegaMillions(5/75+1/15)      1:258,890,850     1:14.7             7 wins for $9
      PowerBall(5/69+1/26)         1:292,201,338     1:24.8             2 wins for $8

While these aren't as good as Texas All or Nothing game, I think there's a good selection.

      All or Nothing(12/24)        1:2,704,156       1:4.5              13 wins for $40

I never hit the numbers that pay a substantial amount....like 1,2 or even 3. It always seems to be 5,6 or 7!!!

Straightforward mathematics.  Of the 2,704,156 combinations:
            1 matches 12,
            144 match 11,
            4,356 match 10,
            48,400 match 9,
            245,025 match 8,
            627,264 match 7,
            853,776 match 6,
            627,264 match 5,
            245,025 match 4,
            48,400 match 3,
            4,356 match 2,
            144 match 1,
            and 1 matches 0.

That means that 2,108,324/2,704,156, or about 78% of tickets, will match 5, 6, or 7 numbers. By comparison, 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, and 11 combined will come up on 105,800/2,704,156, or about 3.9% of tickets. You are twenty times more likely to win nothing than to win a substantial amount.

This game is a NO-Win game, it was created that way so the state would win and not you.

But as somebody said, all lottery games are made so the state wins and not you.

It is just that some of them like this-one are much worse, but it is wrong for me to say that as most of them are as bad as this-one, don't worry your mind too much, even on the pick 3 game the state will win, I was told by the Tx state lottery that it is one of the big money makers (the pick 3 game).

Play for the fun of it, that is why people play lottery games, people who win the millions win by chance or at least most of them do.

Maybe the best winning technique for "smaller" games is one in which you TRACK, that is Tracking, Tracking something in some way or tracking some-things in some way or ways, as I said, for jackpot kind of games there is nothing like having "Luck" at least for most people.

Did I miss something?  Is this game unique in that nobody ever win?  Isn't every lottery game set up for the states to make money running them?

I Agree! Since they organized the lottery to more efficiently kill people and not to finance some lazy teachers or schools that suck with or without money ... . Please  note that taxes finance wars or simple the military. The last one to 50%, I once read, for the USA.
