He waited until it was too late for him to save himself with his riches.

Yes he did.

Well, if you believe you can get rid of pancreatic cancer by meditating and drinking mistle toe juice you get what's coming to you.

I understand seeking out medical treatment but I'd still fire at it with the whole arsenal.

Exactly! Without your health, you can't enjoy much.

Having had a frightful illness this summer made me remember how important your health is!

I can see why you are so full of gratitude GGStarlings. I had bronchitis twice this past year and you are correct when you say,"Take care of your lungs."

Looks like you experienced a silver lining in a dark cloud. Good Luck with your number system!

I could understand your option if you could only choose one or the other. But since you have the option of winning a large jackpot AND having good health no need to separate them.

Even if you had the option of staying healthy forever, in my opinion, it is a kind of curse to witness someone you love go through a medical situation and also see them have to worry about paying for their health care needs. To me it matters less if I am 100% healthy up to the time of death if those around me are made to suffer through illness with absolutely no chance of financial relief.

Health markers have not changed much in the US in the last few decades. Study after study still show that those with wealth have better access to and receive better treatments than those without. We love to make a lot of claims about our system, but peek behind the curtain and the truth is revealed. Add to the mix that we have people like Martin Shkreli making decisions about what the cost of lifesaving drugs should be, give me the money. Being ill and rich is worlds apart than being ill and poor. When you have access to the best care money can buy, things are a bit different.

I'm not saying I want to be rich in exchange for getting Parkinson's or Alzheimer's or something along those lines. I doubt I'm one of those who could handle that type of degeneration with grace and humor, but if it's a curable illness, I'll take the brief discomfort in exchange for some serious money.

                  Teddi,

That was an excellent point you made about asking your pharmacist. Doctors are so busy with getting people in and out, they may not take the time to tell you everything you need to know. In your case asking may have saved your life.

I vote for health. Watching a loved one deteriorate in a nursing home for nine months due to several strokes and cancer before eventually passing, will show you real quick how important good health is.

Btw, Martin Shkreli got his. As they say, karma's a bitch.

Martin Shkreli, who was arrested on fraud charges on Dec. 17, hired the same auditor for his most recent company as the one he used at an earlier company that is now suing him over an alleged scheme to defraud it.  Google him for more details.

The numbers will tell you what numbers to play. Pay attention to the numbers.

Don't just think outside the box, crush it.

Definitely, health.  I just had lung surgery in November, and it was very painful.  I'm a non-smoker but had a nodule on one lung and a tumor on my thymus gland.  I'd been coughing for years.  Now I will tell everyone:  Take care of your lungs.  They are so vital to our life.  Luckily, there was no malignancy so I can go into 2016 with a new lease on life.

This time at home on medical leave has been great, though.  I've not had a break from the work schedule in years, so I've spent all this valuable time working on my number system for... 5 games?  It's been like building a city.  I could never have gotten this much done with holding down "the job".

                    Feeling gratitude!  Smiley Santa

I am glad you are ok now,.Star
