What do other members on this forum look for?

As I have seen the powerball doesn't have a pattern but randoms numbers that come out.  I wonder if the main powerball building if they purposely use a random machine so they don't want anyone hitting.

    TBH I dont look at frequency that much, or I just look at what was the last few draws. Most numbers don't hit back to back, that can be trusted. Once in a while, a screwball will be thrown in and 1 or 2 will show.

      There are patterns.  Most people refer to them as trends.  The trends for PB have been bucked because the matrix change only happened 28 draws ago.

      Don't just look at PB, look at any JP Game.  They all follow trends.  You can even see trends between different games.

      The lower the WB count, the greater the chances of seeing repeats, consecutive numbers, etc - but the percentage is always proportional to the number of WBs.

        A few things you can check for powerball:

        1.  Do you feel repeat numbers are in play?
            They don't come up as often in the new matrix that started on 10/7/2015 versus the old matrix.

            16 - 19 - 32 - 34 - 57  PB = 13

        2.  Do a +1-1 and/or a +2-2 analysis on the numbers in the current draw.

            -1 analysis:  15 - 18 - 31 - 33 - 56  ||  -2 analysis:  14 - 17 - 30 - 32 - 55
               #'s drawn:  16 - 19 - 32 - 34 - 57  ||    #'s drawn:  16 - 19 - 32 - 34 - 57
            +1 analysis:  17 - 20 - 33 - 35 - 58  ||  +2 analysis:  18 - 21 - 34 - 36 - 59

        3.  After steps 1 and 2 are complete, you might have captured 1 maybe 2 of the winning numbers.
            14 - 15 - 16 - 17 - 18 - 19 - 20 - 21 - 30 - 31 - 32 - 33 - 34 - 35 - 36 - 55 - 56 - 57 - 58 - 59
            So out of 20 numbers, you MAY have captured 1 or 2 numbers; or possibly none.

        4.  Cross Reference Numbers in item 3 with the Pretest Numbers from prior draw SAT, 01/09/2016.
            (log on to powerball.com, click on check your numbers, then click on little red ball at bottom)

        67 - 52 - 48 - 16 - 09  PB = 10
            32 - 06 - 67 - 02 - 36  PB = 02
            23 - 24 - 05 - 12 - 18  PB = 12
            12 - 13 - 66 - 21 - 53  PB = 13
            So out of 18 PB pretest number possibilities, you have five matches:  16 - 18 = 21 - 32 - 36
            Within the pretest numbers
        , you MAY have up to 3 numbers; or possibly none.

        5.  The cross referenced numbers in item # 4 are:  16 - 18 - 21 - 32 - 36
            If the drawing is on a Wednesday (which it will be), give more weight to the numbers
            which were picked on a Wednesday.  These would be
        18 - 36

        It doesn't work all the time, but it's a start for analyzing  PB if you've never done so.

        If you really want to analyze PB,
        use software such as Expert Lotto.

        It's pretty good!

        Good Luck!

        Believe it or not, there are patterns.
        Many patterns that depend on the day of the week (W or S)
        or the size of the jackpot or some other factors.
        The many patterns that I have identified are the same,
        just the numbers change. And timing is critical.

        Just from the timing standpoint, it's probably better to use quickpicks than
        pick your own numbers.  You pretty much know whats coming, you just don't know when!

            Yes. The entire point of the draw machine is to be as random as possible.

            In related news, any collection of truly random numbers will contain what appear to be short-term patterns. These are useless for predictive purposes.
