In a previous post, I mentioned going to Amish country to lay low. It got me thinking. Where else are some great places to lay low after winning the lottery. Montana, Wyoming, west Texas (west of Abilene and along the Mexico border), and states that don't have the lottery sound like great places to me. The specific places that I mentioned have a lot of wide open country. Sure, if you have a passport, you can get out of the country immediately. However, the places I mentioned are great places for people waiting on their passport. Do you have a great place in mind? Don't be specific. If you have any thoughts on the subject, let us know! Happy Groundhog Day! Good luck to all playing Mega Millions tonight!

May the balls bounce in your favor!

    Some good ideas.

I think the states that don't have the lottery would be the best choice.

Another idea would be to NOT go on The Today show or The Ellen Show when you win. Keep a low profile, sit back and enjoy the windfall.

The other day my Brother went out and asked I wanted anything. I asked him to get me a Powerball ticket, Take5 and a NY lotto. In place of the NY Lotto ticket, the guy at the store gave a Mega Millions ticket by MISTAKE. I'll let you know if we're as lucky as that guy in VA.Lep

For me, just buy a house in a gated community in Rancho santa fe, Ca. (san diego area).  Keywords: gated community

I'd have to pull a Dave Edwards...I'd be in Palm Beach Florida. A multimillionaire hiding among other multimillionaires and billionaires. Like he said his money didn't stand out from them and that does make a difference. Why live somewhere where there is only a couple people like you in the city, go where there's a glut of them and try and blend in

... to lay low.  whilst waiting for the winnings - probably the Providence Biltmore Hotel.  Once the win was here?  During the cooling off period of time?  a cruse in the best suite on the ship - for 4 to 6 weeks... then meet up with my Realtor to find a better neighborhood or just a better house in the same neighborhood.

Co-incidentally, I just came across what looks to be a great to relax on one of the less populated islands. Not sure that I'll "hide out" for long, but I want to get a vacation condo there.

I found land for sale 50-80 miles east of El Paso. Middle of NOWHERE.

Mama won't have anything to do with that!

Ill be on my porch surrounded by hundreds of acres, with many fences and gates that require keys and openers. They already have surveillance installed on "my ranch" ... I'll have plenty of No Trespassing signs... and in Oregon when it comes to ranches- you don't cross those fences because your apt to hear gun shots and be met with a very stern warning. So... I wont be doing any laying low. I'll be enjoying every minute of the freedom there!

If I felt like I needed to lay low though, it'd be no trouble to hook up to our travel trailer and just go "camping".

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.
