I do with Mega Millions but not Powerball. I don't want to pay 3 dollars for one ticket.

      Same here.

I don't even play pb very often, but get 1 mm with multiplier for every draw.

No, I would rather spend those extra dollars for more tickets (extra chances to win) rather than betting I've already picked a winner.

Yes, I always do, on both the PB and MM as well as the Lotto Texas w/ their "Extra!" option for another dollar.  Just on last night's MM drawing,  some Texas player hit 4 of 5 w/Mega Ball for $5000...but if they had shelled out another buck, they would have won 20 grand. I'd be happy to have won five thousand bucks, but also more than a little sick that I hadn't paid another dollar and won another fifteen thousand. (Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda!) With the Megaplier being X4 last night, the extra dollar would have been the difference between a million and four million on 5 of 5.  On the PB drawing for 2/3, a Texas player won two million instead of a million because they played the Powerplay.  The Lotto Texas was won on 1/23 - it doesn't have a bonus ball, but 16 players hit 5 of 5 for $2,072, but out of that total only 3 played the Extra! and got $12,072.

I had the Mega Ball last night for a win of a buck, but since I paid the extra dollar, I won $4.  As my good friend RCB says, that isn't a "life-changing" amount, but it's going to pay for two more MM lines or drawings and I'm hoping one of them WILL be a life-changing win.

Yes on both. Second prize is retirement $$$.

                $2 million - $5 million.

Besides, what's another dollar? Chump change.

Agreed, also the extra money won on the other tiers makes it worth it.  Personally I like MM payout better, so only play a little money on PB (if any).

On the MD lottery webpage there is a story of a $50k winner getting the X5 multiplier so winning $250k !!!!

Given how rarely I play anymore, I play the multiplier.

My new power/mega system is to play one QP ticket for each $250,000,000 in advertised CASH value, which means I don't play much at all.

Playing more than one ticket per game is betting against yourself.

                      Mr./Ms. Hypersoniq,

I must play every week, without fail.
If I don't, I'm really biting my nails until the next drawing.
So then I'm hoping none of my numbers come out.
That's when I'm betting against myself, unlike the
                      suggestion of your signature.

                      Groppo

                      • Don't chase the numbers you play.
                      • Play only numbers you've already played, plus however many random picks.
                      • But, ALWAYS the regular numbers you play.  This will make you a winner, not a chaser.
(so far, though, I've yet to win any significant lotto prize)

                        Mr.

I been there, holding onto a set of numbers and also worried when I didn't get a chance (or forgot) to play them.

Also, holding a fanned out set of losing tickets way more than I wish i did.

But, then it wasn't fun. hence the adaptation of my motto, it's more a reminder to myself than advice for anyone else.

Playing more than one ticket per game is betting against yourself.

Mega millions yes I do.  Powerball has horrible odds.  Once again that sick feeling the jackpot climbs up there.  They should the old matrix for powerball and have it back to what it was.  Def was better.

Never have played it before but considered it for Mega before

PB is too costly as is to consider spending more on game

Mega at $1 a line is more affordable to play compared to Powerball at $2

I haven't played PB since the billion dollar JP, but if/when I play again, depending upon how much money I have in my wallet at the time I play, I might add the PowerPlay.

I cant remember when was the I last played MM, but if/when I play again, I'll definitely add the Megaplier.  I wouldn't want to know what it feels like to win $1,000,000 and then find out I could have won as much as $5 million but didn't because I didn't spend one lousy extra dollar.  I realize the same thing would happen to me if I won a PowerBall second prize and did not add The PowerPlay, but since they changed the odds in PB, I rarely ever play it.
