$1.6B Power Ball drawing on 1/13/16. We all know who won in Munford, Tennessee. Now will you give us a clue of where the remaining two are? What are they doing?

Melbourne Beach, Florida The winner must turn in their ticket within 60 days from the draw date. It has almost been 30 days already. Otherwise, you cannot claim the Lump Sum.   After that, there is an 180-day period from the draw date to claim the jackpot amount.

The winner in Chino Hills, California in San Bernardino County, has 365 days from the date of the draw to claim. Then a 60 day period to claim the Lump Sum.

My first guess is, Both tickets have been lost.

 Any other guesses?

No way they were lost.  Would you lose a powerball ticket?  Those were bought by intelligent people who are planning ahead, or bought by a group working out the legalities.  Either way, we will know soon enough.

What's the rush Music? When they ready they will claim through their attorney or a Trust. Chances are you will  get no mugshot of the winners.

I don't think they're lost tickets. I believe because the amount of money is so large that the winners are doing some extreme planning i.e. scrubbing their social media footprint, setting up an LLC or Trust to collect the money, just taking time to let it all settle in etc... All of this AFTER taking time to find their team of advisers -which I am sure takes careful consideration.

I wouldn't even be surprised if they are not waiting until another big jackpot winner is announced OR waiting for the afternoon before a national holiday to claim their winnings. Either of those scenarios would cut down some what on their media exposure.

All of this is pure conjecture of course - but that is what I will do when I am in their situation! Yes Nod

noise-gate, Here in California your name will be made public. That is LAW. Where the ticket was purchased is also the law.

I plan on using a Living Revocable Trust when I win. I do know that it cannot shield me totally. I will ask my attorney if he/she can claim it for me.

I am just looking for guesses.

          Hurray!

In Calif, your name and town is released period. There is no way  to get around it. However, that shouldnt mean you have to do free or paid advertising for the lottery, i.e., press conferences, photos, statements.  After you collect the winnings, it can then be put into trusts that cant be traced back to you.

What bugs me is seeing people's names on computer screens at every place that sells tickets. That goes on for years and that does fall under advertising and you shouldnt be forced into it.

About a year ago, the superlotto was won but I never saw the name. After months of looking, I finally found it on the lotto website. They gave the name and said the family needed privacy. I think the winners were able to demonstrate that there was a safety issue. I dont think I could even find their name anymore in that it was "buried" i. e., there is a way to manipulate search engines to make people very difficult to find.

Redd55, Your name is released but it is the town/city that you purchased your ticket in that is released.

I agree with you and will not do the grip and grin photo, the press conference. But I will give the press a statement that tells them about the Lottery Post and USAmega. I will give the world my handle, music*.

Maybe those other two winners just want to drive people who have to know such things nuts!

                    Wink

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

                    Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I thought I saw in an interview with one of Gloria Mackenzie's advisors that the Flordia Lottery actually called the press while she was turning in her ticket and that is how they knew to mob her as she was leaving the office that day.  Hopefully the winning ticket holder of the most recent huge jackpot learned from that and is now planning how to handle the situation.

If that is the case, it's grimy on the part of the Florida lottery. She clearly didn't want the fanfare, but the lottery wasn't satisfied just releasing her name as the law allows, they had to release the hounds on her too.

When I hit the big one, if I have to appear at the office, you can bet your bottom dollar I will be in disguise.
