I wrote a program to back test your 317 methods -
- The one with 317 as rundown number
- The one with previous draw numbers as rundown number. It is for the past 10 draws in Iowa Pick 3.
Here are the reports:
Note : The excel sheets don't have any formulas or so they are plain reports.
Explanation of each column:
SOURCE : method - in this case just 317 rundown
DRAWTYPE_REPORT : whether draws were combined or midday and eve were considered separate(C,M,E)
WINNING_NUMBER : number drawn on the date in DATE_DRAWN
DATE_DRAWN : a day that falls in our report period(e.g., this report is 10 days so it will have all 10 days if there is a match on each day.
WINNING_DRAW_TYPE : when the number in WINNING_NUMBER was drawn(M,E)
DATE_CHART : The method was run on this days' drawn number
CHART_DRAW_TYPE : The method was run on this days' draw type(M,E)
MATCHED_PAIR(S) : If there is a matching pair(any order - FP,BP,SP) it will show(one or many)
METHOD's PAIRS : What pairs came out of the system(output of the system)
DAY_BEFORE : This is to see whether the hits came from previous day's chart
EQUALS BEFORE : to filter - just compares DAY_BEFORE to DATE_CHART( this way you can go back and see whether hits came after few days - I think I restricted to 5 days)
The second draw based rundown sheet has one additional column
RUNDOWN NUMBER WAS FROM DAYS BACK : It is the period from which I took the draw as run down number(1-7); e.g., if it has a value 3 it means the draw number from 3 days back was used as rundown number instead of 317.
Sample look up : If I want to see whether this method gave any hits 2 days back I will do these steps:
- I will create new columns 2 days before and equals 2 days before and copy formula from equals before day and change -1 to -2 and then set equals 2 days before to date_chart=the newly created 2 days before column. double click both columns to fill all cells.
- I can now play around by choosing C,M,E in draw type column and then the winning draw type columns to see statistics of M->M,E->E,M->E,E->M matches.
Now I need Amber or someone else who is back testing this manually to provide the state for which they are testing. I can feed in the corresponding state draws and give new report.
Note: It is just changing the count to a higher number. Everything else is automatic.
This way you can also verify the numbers in the report and let me know if some thing is wrong.
