What would you guys think if Powerball gave you the option for $1 to pick the Jackpot winning state or state's?

Each state you pick would cost $1.

Let's say it would start out at $1 million and it would increase $250,000 for each draw until the jackpot was won.

The winnings would be paid out by the number of winners who pick the correct Jackpot winning state or states.

If no one picks the right state or states it just keeps on rolling until the next Jackpot is won.

Let's say it starts out at $1 million and the Jackpot was won in Ohio and 1 person picked Ohio as the Jackpot state, then they
would be the sole winner of $1 million.

Let's say 3 people picked Ohio then it would be split by 3 and they would each get $333,333.33 each.

If there are 2 winning Jackpot states or more you would share equally by the number of winners.

Let's say the Jackpot winning states are Ohio and Florida and the amount is $1 million and 1 person picked Ohio and 1 person picked Florida.

They would share the $1 million prize and each would get $500,000 each.

This probably won't happen but, it could give players a chance to win a few $$$$.

Any comment's ?

If there were another option to pick "no State" I would pick that one.  LOL

No, not interested in add ons, I don't even add the extra dollar for the multiplier.

Yea, two bucks are enough for a chance at a game you can't win.

Sounds fun but probably wouldn't work. Just pay $46 (or buy 46 tix and 46 add-ons) and win the state pick-em JP every time.

              Itsonly$,

              The payouts would be varied.

The state with the largest populations, and this the most ticket sales, would probably be something like you'd have to lay $1.50 to win $1.

States like North Dakota and Wyoming would be underdogs and pay more than $1 for $1.

But the MUSL which runs PB and MM and other games already has enough on its hands.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I like the idea but the payout would need to be like $25 to $30 to account for the odds and Cali might have some trouble with their special rule.

The top ten states (CA,TX,FL,NY,IL,PA,OH,GA,NC, and MI) have more than half the population, exclude them and you have a real opportunity. 38 options (D.C and VI are annoyed at you) for a $25-$30 prize. In the event of a winner from a big state or no winner, everyone loses and needs to buy for the next draw.

Mist people wouldn't bet with those states eliminated.

To group those states together would be known as the 'field' and you'd have to lay a lot to win less.

Some of Tyson's fights come to mind, people were putting up $1500 to $2000 or more to win $100.

This would be $15 or $20 to win $1 on a PB proposition bet.
