Several times a year, the Florida Lottery offers a "second chance" promotion where you can enter your losing tickets in several entry window periods for a chance to win some cash prizes during those various period/drawings. For example, they are allowing people to enter losing tickets in their newly released Gold Rush scratch-off games for a chance at $1k, $10k and $25k prizes in four separate drawings. The window to enter tickets for each drawing is approximately 2-3 weeks. Like most of us, I have plenty of losers to enter but I'd like to think there is a strategy to potentially increase your chances of winning a prize.
What is the general consensus? Should you enter all your tickets in the first drawing to put all your eggs in one basket or does everyone put all their tickets in the first drawing. Or maybe people are not familiar with the promotion to take advantage of the first drawing. I would imagine that the last drawing would also be crowded with entries because all the procrastinators will enter their tickets in the last drawing to avoid missing the final opportunity.
Does that mean the second or third drawings are the best? At the end of the day, it may not matter and I can just enter an equal amount in each drawing and take my chances. But I was curious to hear everyone's thoughts on the best time to enter.
