Basic tutorial about Vtracs
The term "VTracs" is comprised of "V" for variable and "Tracs" for tracking. So when you talk about VTracs you're talking about tracking variables. VTracs uses a system of number substitution to condense regular Pick 3 drawing results into 3-digit numbers with half as many possible combinations.
Don’t overcomplicate it…it provides a means of tracking of digits and types of combinations, and how you can use them to identify patterns to your advantage. Tracking is paramount to using this. Just as you would keep track of sums, the actual draws, or the types of combo’s (EEO,EOO,EEE,OOO), doubles, triples, etc.
Vtrac basics:
V1:0 and 5
V2:1 and 6
V3:2 and 7
V4:3 and 8
V5:4 and 9
A combination as we know is made of 3 digits. Each digit corresponds to a Vtrac number. To differentiate between actual draw combos and Vtrac digits, a Vtrac should always be preceded by a V. Such as V123…… I prefer to capitalize the V before the combination. It stands out better. You may see it both ways.
The charts are available under the “systems” tab in the blue bar at the top of the page in LP. Click on “systems” then click “Vtracs Home Page”.
Example of Vtrac strings:
Example of a single digits Vtrac string: v123 012, 017, 062, 067, 512, 517, 562, 567
You will see that each string of Vtracs has eight combinations associated with it. The charts in the resource above have the combinations for each Vtrac configuration. This Vtrac string is made of individual digits, in other words, no digits the same. The digits are listed in the string in order of the Vtrac string header. Vtrac digit 1 is draw numbers 0 and 5. Vtrac digit 2 is draw numbers 1 and 6. Vtrac digit 3 is draw numbers 2 and 7. When looking at the string, you will see the combo’s made in numerical order. The first digit in the draw combo relates to first digit in the Vtrac, the second digit in the draw combo relates to the second digit in the Vtrac and so on. The draw combo’s obviously don’t always appear this way and a chart is available to express it in each order it can come in. This is a very basic Vtrac example. Each Vtrac configuration has its own draw combinations order.
Example of a double digits Vtrac string: v112 001, 006, 051, 056, 501, 506, 551, 556
There are two digits the same in the Vtrac, so this means it is a double Vtrac String. Again there are eight combinations listed for the Vtrac string. As you can see Vtrac digit 1 represents draw digits 0 and 5. So the combinations show it as so. There are combinations in a double Vtrac combination that have 3 different digits. Why? This is known as a mirror digit combination:051. The first two digits in the draw combo match to Vtrac 1.
Example of a triple digit: Vtrac string v111 000, 005, 050, 055, 500, 505, 550, 555
Again you will see each draw digit relates to Vtrac digit 1. There are two triple digit draw combinations (each digit the same) and the rest are mirror combination doubles (two digits the same, one different).
You will see posts of people singing the praises of Vtrac’s and some dissing it. It is simply a matter of what can work for you.
How to use:
Now, how can you use this to your advantage? When you look at the tracking of drawn combo’s converted to Vtrac’s, what do you see? Any missing Vtrac digits? Repeat patterns? Missing Vtrac strings?
This is a few of the ways we can use this information. The old adage is “what is out must come in”. Yes, there will be those who say it can stay out a long time, especially digits. But the great thing about Vtracs is a draw combination digit may stay out a long time but a Vtrac rarely will. This helps provide a “target” you can use. The Vtrac will return in a reasonable period, meaning one of those digits associated with it will also.
Here’s an example: The Vtrac 3 was recently out 6 draws in KS. This is definitely reaching the limit of being out. It came on the seventh draw. Another characteristic of a Vtrac being out a long period, is when it is out, when it comes in it will almost always repeat. If not the next draw, then the second. Is this a guarantee? No, this is the lottery. Such a thing doesn’t exist. But is it playable? Yes.

See the red highlights above…..you can see how long it was out, when it came in, and how it repeated.
Repeat patterns: This is especially helpful with double digit Vtracs. They repeat often in its opposite or “mirror” form.
In the example above, note the blue highlighted digits. It came first as V414 and came again as V114 a few draws later.
This happens a lot, generally within 5-10 days. So if you are expecting doubles, it’s advisable to see what recently was drawn and has it repeated or not.
Another way is a Vtrac string or Vtrac pair becomes “hot”. It repeats over the course of several draws. See the example above and the orange highlights. Vtrac 124 has shown varying form three times. It had actually come twice more before this “snapshot” of results. One thing to note is the string repeated but in a different form or different actual draw digits. This still helps you narrow down to a playable group of combinations.
Another way to use Vtracs is Vtrac pair association. We have seen several examples of this in the Lottery Systems forum lately. These are great sources of potential wins. Check these out as to how to use them.

There are other ways to use Vtracs. I will post some more soon. I wanted to put up a basic info on Vtracs. There have been quite a few posts lately referencing the use of them and a lot of questions.
If you want to become proficient using these, spend some time studying posts of the other LP members who are well known for using them. These include but not limited to….Sherita, tntea, littleoldlady, Blackapple, calabs, MzDuffleBagLady and others.
This is the link to tntea’s original tutorial about Vtrac’s. It has a lot of great information but does kind of drag on because she was using a teaching approach.

I will say this. Years ago when I first began Pick 3 play and research, this is what I started with. I moved away from it for a period of time, and now years later, it is an integral part of how I play.
