I stopped at a store I hardly ever go in this afternoon & bought $4 worth of p3 & p4 tickets...4 of each kind & the clerk handed them to me sort of turning them over & said I owed him $9 & I said no I owe you $4 because they were 50 cent tickets.

I told him what I played & showed him the 2 play slips I had given him & told him I was not paying but the $4 that I owed...he then said let's see what you have & he was going to count the paper tickets.

...then a cash 5 ticket was there with 5 on the one ticket when he spread them out and I said I did not buy any cash 5 tickets...then he said I guess I'll have to pay for it & I said well not because of me because I did not give you a slip for it & did not ask for it.

I guess he thought I was a dumb blonde and he was going to get me to pay for some tickets somebody decided they did not want....I've had some things happen before when buying tickets but never like that....usually it's a mistake they've made with my slips by running them more than once or leaving some off or whatever.

Have you all had anyone try to pull something off on you like that...if he had not tried to flim-flam me I might would have bought the $5 worth of cash 5 but since he did I would not!

A clerk im Illinois told me there was no such thing as a 50 cent ticket.....so I asked her why the play slip had $.50 and $1.00 on it.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

the best thing the lottery ever did was put a screen up for players to see exactly how much they were being charged . prior to that clerks were overcharging and stealing money from unsuspecting customers that did not know how much they owed. even though each lottery player should KNOW how much they're tickets account to some people still opted to "trust" the clerk. I haven't had your problem but I had a lady at a store not long ago that I knew that stole a ticket from me well I was flabbergasted to say the least however I set her up for the next day and played the same number again and again she gave me a ticket and took at ticket. I immediately told her to check the machine "oh yeah it fell on the floor " no dear you stole it b/c I knew she played the same number she just didn't want to buy her own ticket. Someone probably bought the ticket and then told them they didn't want the ticket so they were trying to put it in your tickets it all comes down to knowing how much you owe.

I lived in Eugene Oregon back in 2007 and I went to my local around the corner store to turn in a $2 winner and the clerk scanned the ticket it rang up and she told me that it was a loser and ripped the ticket up. So I decided to go to the liquor store further away and another convenient store further away to get my lotto because I was not going to be getting ripped off too many times.-weshar75

I ran some tickets, and I kept my play slips.

When I seen the winning number, I knew I had won $350.00.

Well, I had the play slips, and was charged, and didn't have the winning ticket.

So, I went back to the store, and the clerk was still there, and I told him, "Hey, I don't have my winning ticket", yet I have the play slip.

Along with my other tickets.?

I was hot!.

He said, "he didn't have it"?

I know he did.

Same thing happened, again, at a different location.

I bought a quick pick, it was, 066, so, I got back in line, and played, 099.

I get home, check the winners, it's, 099, I have the play slip, "No ticket"?

Lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

From those 2 incidents, I try to check my tickets, before I leave the counter, I don't care who is behind me, and what they are trying to buy.

I really don't. lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I am a paying customer and you are going to respect my hustle.

Quick trip, always trying to get you to buy a Powerball ticket someone else didn't want, lmaooooooooooooooooooo.

They always having them sticking up on the machine, lmaoooooooooooooooooooo.

I be like, "NO".

I am so glad we have new vending machines, because, sometimes, I do not like to talk.

If you play quick picks, watch that the clerk doesn't try and slip you an expired ticket for the previous draw.

You're right...I always but always count what I owe & write it down on a small piece of paper & put it in front of my playslips in my plastic folder....they've tried to add more many times to what I owe in other ways too especially if the paper runs out...then I say give me what you've ran & I'll match them with the playslips then tell you which ones to run...don't trust them to do it because they mess up most of the time!

...also won $250 one time and the clerk gave me $235....he did not count it back...just handed it to me, so I did not move from the counter & counted it back to him and told him he owed me $15 more so he took the money back & told me he was going to go to the back room and play the tape of us from the security camera as he took the money out of the cash register...he came back and said you're right I owe you $15 more...that was at Sheetz where I buy most of my tickets.

I hate to think he was going to keep the $15 for himself but it makes me wonder if he was!

....they should count the money out to you and most do but he didn't...he has also done that another time & I don't move...if you leave the counter they can say you took that part out....I've been around for awhile so it's going to be hard for them to pull something on me & get by with it...very hard!

You should have insisted on her giving you the pieces of the ticket and tape it back together then show it to the manager of the store...I know it's only $2 but it's the principal of it!

They ask me that too...that's what the clerk yesterday was trying to do but slip it in with mine...still can believe I would be so dumb as to fall for it...I wonder how many he has tried with it or how many more he will try...I warned one man in line not to fall for it if he tried it with him.

...when I buy only dollar tickets I buy them out of the machine for p3 & p4 & other tickets other than scratch offs....you can't buy 50 cent ones out of it.

...you can also scan your winning scratch card at the machine & it will give you the amount you won for you to use as credit unless it's $100 or more...it will give you an option to buy that much from the machine or keep your card...I have bought some like that & I like it better!....be sure to read it and press the right option because you can't get your money back....you will have to use it if you press yes.

I have not scanned anything but scratch ones at the machine but guess you could do it with p3 & other online ones too.
