As one of the people who have a custom version make sure that you tic the custom Flip-II
when you run the Split program. The database names are different and are not compatible
with the regular version Flip-II databases. You may have to go in and edit your Filp-II.ini file
to fix the problem.
Standard Flip-II.INI file
P3-Games\MO3.TXT
Custom Flip-II.ini file
P3-Games\MO3C.TXT
If you don't use the correct split option the program will go ahead and build the files but the names it assigns
will have a incorrect format that the program has to have to run. The names are read from right to left and
the (3), ie for pick-3 is the 5th for one version and the 6th in the other. This is what causes the error when
trying to run the incorrect databases. When a game is loaded the program writes the name to the FLIP.INI
before it does anything else. The next thing it does is open and read the INI file then break it's name down to
get the stuff it needs to run. The first two letters / digits can be anything for Flip-II files but everything else
must be in the correct format. To fix your problem go to the install directory C:\Flip-II and find the file named
FLIP-II.INI. Open it with notepad and erase what is there. enter-> P3-Games\GA3E.TXT <-. Click save and exit
notepad. Now the program should open without any problems. Next run the Split program and tic the box
for custom Flip-II before you click continue. The Split program will then build the correctly named files and
put then in the correct game folder. Exit or minimize the Split program and open Flip-II and click Load then
navigate to the P3-games or P4-games folder depending on how the Split options are set then select the
SL31.TXT for the Left 3 digits or SL32.TXT for the Right 3 digits. The Flip-II will treat the new databases
just like a regular database.
These instructions are for people with custom versions of Flip-II. The same instructions can be used for
regular versions but you must use the proper game names. P.S. These instructions are for GA so if in
another state then you need to use that States abbr such as MO. for Missouri. The files Split produces
do not need to be renamed for any game. If Split is set correctly then use the names it assigns to the
files.
