My guess is that PB will hit but not MM.

I will say neither as my vote because I think they'll roll until someone hits a jackpot when 2018 begins!

I hope that one $2 ticket is the only one that matches all 5 numbers plus the PB to win the largest PB jackpot in United States history of over $2 Billion Dollars! I hope that one $2 ticket is the only one that matches all 5 numbers plus the Mega Ball to win the largest Mega Millions jackpot in United States history of over $2 Billion Dollars!

Going with simple probability I'd have to figure that PB will get hit by the end of the year and MM will roll at least into January.

Both have 11 more drawings before 12/30.

The PB roll that produced the huge winner in MA rolled from 155 to 430 in 11 drawings, so we can expect that somewhere around 275 million tickets could be sold if it keeps rolling. That means there's about a 60% chance we'll see at least one winner by the end of the year.

Last summer MM went from 113 to 248 in 11 drawings. Total sales seem to be fairly close under the new matrix and price as they used to be. The new price and prize structure is fairly similar to PB, so continuing to roll might mean sales of about 135 million tickets. That means about a 36% chance of producing at least one winner.

I'm with that, though given there's only 8 more draws until the end of the year i doubt a significant amount of people would buy soon after the jackpot gets won.

The current Mega Millions jackpot is currently at $176 million. The current Powerball jackpot is estimated at $212 million dollars as of right now. The last time both jackpot hit on back to back days were on Friday March 31st and Saturday April 1st. That was in the year 2017.

I don't know of those amounts are an official long-range forecast or a personal guess, but the amount for a rollover tonight is $2million low. 7 more rolls to the mid 500's seems on par with the last one that got that high, but the pace of jackpot growth doesn't seem to be as predictable as it used to be.

I'd be really happy with a great Christmas or New Year's, or even a good Hanukkah, but a stellar MLK day or a mind boggling Groundhog day would be even better.

Someone said Powerball will be $227 Million for next drawing. That wrong because on usamega.com it said $229 Million for next drawing.

Yikes, what is with you people??? I said they were predictions, aka, estimates. And I didnt say they were my predictions. You got a problem with it? Then take it up with who ever runs Powerball. Instead of you all complaining about it, you should be glad that the jackpots are growing faster than what the lottery people projected. smh....

Redd, now you know how news takes off, 'alternate truth, opinions, or predictions. The mind tends to focus only on initial perception. If people see it in print, hear it on the radio, or see and hear it on the television it becomes reality, without any skewing factors.
