Hi all,

What criteria do you use to choose your lottery numbers? I play Keno and I would like to know your criteria to improve my odds...

Tips and tricks are welcome.

D'oh! to me...

I choose a combination of 10 numbers from the first 30 and eliminate the other 40. Keno in Quebec (Called Banco) it play with 70 numbers.

I am trying to play a 10-digit combination that has come out most often in the last hundred draws.

The experience is not very conclusive so far...

On the rare occasions we play, each person in the family picks some numbers. We all have fun and all share the blame for not making a return on $2.

How much are you spending per week on keno?

Only my hairdresser knows for sure.

Bonjour Oate,

About 1$ a day, so around 7$ per week. I did win twice 200$ but not constantly.

Lucko,

I worked in casinos and some of the bosses would hang around the bar after work and play Keno (80 number).

They usually played 5 spot or fewer numbers, and they played connected groups (such as 2 11 12 21 22.

So the ticket looked like

You would have thought these guys would have known better as Keno was 'the worst bet in the house" but had that reputation because people were going after the big payoffs.

These guys won more often than you'd think.

I generally look for patterns in the days that numbers have won.

Example: These were the first five times that Virginia drew 104.

Sat, Oct 2, 2004	Virginia	Pick 3 Day	1-0-4
Tue, Mar 2, 2004	Virginia	Pick 3 Night	1-0-4
Thu, Mar 5, 1998	Virginia	Pick 3 Day	1-0-4
Tue, Jan 20, 1998	Virginia	Pick 3 Night	1-0-4
Tue, Jan 28, 1992	Virginia	Pick 3 Night	1-0-4

Three of five wins on Tuesday nights, three of five wins on Numerology 2 days (2nd, 11th, 20th, 29th*), four of five wins in January or March. I looked for days matching these criteria and came up with Tue. 03/29/2005. So, I decided that 104 would win on Tue. 03/29/2005.

Lo and behold ...

Unfortunately, on that day, I forgot my prediction, did not buy a ticket, and did not remember my prediction until I checked the results the next day.

* 29: 2+9 = 11, 1+1 = 2.

Today's winning 3-ball is going to be a number between 000 and 999.

In a lot of states, lotteries benefit education. That makes the REAL winners the only people who can't play!

At the casino I go to, all the keno machines, including at the bar, have a 95% return. I play 6 spot keno. The probability of getting all 6 is 1 in 7,752, and I win it about once a month.

The worst bet in the house is live keno. Slot machines are between the two.

I posted this before but here's the reader's Digest version.

The California in Vegas had (maybe still does) a 5 Spot ticket that paid $1,000 for 5 of 5.

One of the high rollers that liked to play craps would give the Keno runner a stack of blacks ($2,000) to play the \same 5 spot at $50 a game for 40 games. This guys' luck was incredible. Several times per trip he would hit for $50K, tell the runner to keep playing the ticket, and hit again. Other times while he was waiting for the payoff he'd play video Keno and hit for $1750.

He'd ask for the limo to take him to San's Town and hit there and hit the video Keno in the Western store while he was shopping for western clothes.

One of the bossdes said the huy was just 'born under the right star'.
