Paranoid much? Anything somebody gives you, regardless of the reason could be stolen. Of course it's pretty unlikely. What's extremely unlikely is that somebody would have stolen money and then be handing it out to strangers. People who steal stuff have a tendency to keep it for themselves.

In 55 ? Not in existence. Come up some and I started menacing the planet or so I have been told

I remember watching The Millionaire as a kid. That I remember a show that ended before 1960 did almost certainly means I was watching reruns, though probably still in the early 60's.

I'd also thought of the show in terms of the people who said they wouldn't take money from a stranger. $20 bucks isn't all that much to most people, so it's not difficult to turn down. I'm pretty sure that anyone who doesn't already have far more money would turn down a million bucks when there are either no strings attached or the only conditions don't cause any problems with accepting it.
