  IMO, the best way is to keep it simple. Flip a coin, heads is high and tails is low and do that for each digit position. You'll have 125 pick-3 combos and 625 pick-4 combos. Now comes the neat part; flip the coin again for each digit position only this time heads is even and tails is low. The results is 8 to 27 pick-3 straight combos and 16 to 81 pick-4 straight combos.

  ex 159 doublets = 15 19 59
  15 = is odd / odd / low / high
  19 = is odd / odd / low / high
  59 = is odd / odd / high / high

  You know, Stack, we've all been up and down this 'lotto street' many times since we first began playing and there's no doubt that we can learn something different from time to time by being more attentive to the little details along the path. To save my life, I cannot figure out why players desire to make this game so technically difficult. All the fancy equations, formulas, and terminologies will still bring it all right back the very basics of 0-9 and Odd/Even combining. Keno, Black Jack, and Roulette are all number-based games and I have yet to see anyone attempt factoring in Pi (3.14) or any of that other business in an effort to win on these same type number games. Unreal to me.

  Small games, frequent wins, and regular payouts 'cause.....

  If we look at the 0-9 numerical scale, both the #4 and #5 are actually mid-range digits. No? In my opinion, 457 would translate into:
