One segment tonight is going to be about a retired Michigan couple who has firured out how to win millions in state lotteries......

That's what the cable guide says anyways.

Don't know if it will be interesting or be a dud.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Just googled it. It's about the couple playing Winfall, after figuring out the odds were in the player's favor when there was a rolldown. Then when Michigan ended the game, they did the same thing in Massachusetts at the same time some kids from MIT were doing the same thing.

I'm almost 100% certain it's a repeat. If it is them, they did the same thing the MIT students did in the Mass. lottery game that was shut down. Curious how they're showing it again right after a couple of big MM and PB jackpots were won.

List Pick 3 singles by low sums, high sums. Separate each sum row by consecutive pair and non consecutive pair combos. These 3 pair groups. 14 17 47, 25 28 58, 36 39 69 are in 63 combos. 54 combos do not have them. Which sums do the 3 pair groups appear and not appear? Look at root sum groups 147, 258, 369. Play accordingly.

Thanks for the heads-up. Might be a repeat but I never saw it before. Funny how the lottery shuts a game down when people start winning.

It said in the article I read that Mass Lottery made about 120 million on the Cash Winfall game, so they were pretty happy too. Between the Selbee group and the MIT kids, they were selling millions of dollars in tix that ordinarily wouldn't been sold.

Yeah, it was a repeat, I wish the cable guide had been more specific, but still an interesting story.

Kind of sounds like that passage in Catch22 when the one guy (Milo Minderbinder?) started doing business in the black market but sold everything at a loss. When Yossarian asked him how he was going to make any money like that he said, "Oh, I'll make up fir it in volume."

The lottery was making more money, but shut the game down because groups were tying up lottery terminals and had what they called "unfair advantage" over the average player by lowering the roll-over payoffs. The Mass Lottery was actually making more in profits.

That is because the lottery itself is a business aimed at making maximum profits. If the same person ever wins the Powerball jackpot more than once or if the same person ever wins the Mega Millions jackpot more than once, there will be significant and massive changes to that game. Those games will still be around but the lottery would make it even harder to win those games.

Smart lottery winners form trust to claim their winnings. They send an attorney to the lottery headquarters to claim the prize in trust, so that ONLY the name of the trust is revealed. And they tell NO ONE, especially relatives.

If you ever win a lottery and you are single, the only person you should ever marry is someone who was truly in love with you BEFORE you won the jackpot!

People can talk about strategies and gimmicks all they want, but unless your ticket actually matches at least 5 of those 6 balls, you are just another person who tried to win a game yet ultimately failed.

Great article and then fun to watch the 60 min interview. Seemed like normal people that were part of there 'group'. So if I understand right them and the other groups (in MA) bought all these tickets and STILL never hit the jackpot?

correct, but they still played the game and COULD have hit the jackpot but it appears they never did. It also appears the other groups didn't either, or at least they didn't say they hit.
