You're definitely on the right track and you're definitely seeing and saying how they make their money.
I'd do some heavy research before cutting out so many numbers though. Unless you have already. I know with a 30 ball set, cutting down to 21 is really going to hurt your chances of a 5 of 5. About twice every 60-80 draws you can get by with that on a 30 ball set. Going to be less the more balls are in play. I'm seeing that happen about 30 to 40 draws, then within the next 4 or so draws, then back to about 30 to 40 again. It's going to hit in that area at some point, but you're going to need to get more wins to make it worth playing. Unless you do hit a 5 of 5.
You're never going to see 32,33,34,35,36 be drawn in a 5/35 matrix. You can about check with Halleys Comet to see when 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 has been drawn. It CAN happen at any time, BUT, regardless the odds, how many times has it.
If someone is stuck on playing that sort of combination over and over, play it, but pick from a much better set also.
Best of luck and stay safe!
I think one of the best ideas I've ever seen was from BobP. I don't use it all the time, but it's simple, doesn't involve math gyrations, tracking, or any stuff like that.
If you are picking numbers to play, simply leave out the numbers that were in the last draw. It's amazing how many combinations are left off the table. In Texas our Lotto game is a 6/54. The odds for 6/6 are 1 in 25,827,165. By leaving out the numbers that were drawn last, the odds drop to 1 in 12,271,512. That's over half the combinations. To be sure, it doesn't work all the time. But it is a strategy that at least gets you closer to a win.

My 2.5 cents. LOL.
It is a very good way to look at things - wont work 100% of the time - but still I think puts you on a good track.
Especially for my favorite state game:
6/6
1-39
cuts it down from 1 in 3,262,623.000 to 1 in 1,107,568.000

I think the mm and pb have something to do with the month and date. take the challenge from these two days so far. Not saying it will work all the time.

POWERPLAY 10 !
Haven’t seen it before, even if you won $4 with a power play it will be $40 wow
Sorry for the late reply. I just saw the above post on July 30th.
The 10x PowerPlay has been drawn a total of four times since MUSL started offering the PowerPlay option.
There are multiple reasons why it hasn't been drawn very often. One reason is because 10x is removed from play once the PB jackpot hits 150 million and it remains missing until somebody hits the big jackpot and the jackpot is reset to 40 million. So for jackpots of 150 million and up, there is no 10x PowerPlay number.
Also when the 10x PowerPlay is available, there is just one 10x ball, but there are many 2x and 3X balls, that's why they are drawn so frequently. G5

Give Five,
Remember me? Jacal from NY. I haven't been on this site for a long time, but we used to exchange posts occasionally. Anyway, I hit the 10x Power Play with red ball #4 and won $40, I finally hit a winning number on the right day!
I read about a strategy that increases the odds of winning, all the numbers in the drawing are played on seperate lines. I've been playing the same ten lines on NY Lotto for a few years now. hit four numbers twice and three numbers several times, including last Wed. drawing. I guess the universe doesn't want to give me all six numbers for the jackpot, not yet anyway, lol.
