The worst lottery game was New York Lottery's Sweet Millions game.

It ran from 2009 until 2014 and was billed as having the best odds ‘to win a million for a dollar’.

Players were required to choose six numbers from 1 to 40, either by choosing their own or by asking their store clerk for a Quick Pick. It cost $1 per line, and up to 10 games could be played on a single playcard.

Matching 6 of 6 (1 in 3,838,380) won you a $1 mil prize, but if there were no winners, the jackpot did not roll over.

My God. After seeing Posters mention how awful All Or Nothing Lottery Game was, I decided to look it up. It may just be THE worst Lottery Game EVER. You have to match 12 numbers to win!? Or match NOTHING at all to win? WTF? That doesn't even seem like a good game on PAPER!

"What's your ADDRESS?" May be the CREEPIEST question EVER asked to a Lottery Winner! O.O WTF?

At first, I found the one digit away draws kind of amusing, but now I am PISSED! 15 or 16 times I was off by just one digit in recent times!🤬 No longer find this amusing, it's making me REALLY angry now!🤬

No pick 3 straight numbers in Illinois lottery in almost a year(11 months). This is very strange.

Here it's 11/22 with $100K jackpot for $2 a ticket. It's now a twice daily game. There doesn't seem to be any uptick in wins since they added the extra daily draw.

I forget the format but they dropped the game, maybe it was 11/22, not sure.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Cash Quest with the Louisiana Lottery during the late 1990's, Triple Chance with the Texas Lottery ended last year.

I do have to agree with you on Sweet Million... and as I read down through this thread I wondered if Sweet Million would appear in it.

Everything you said in your post is correct, but there was a hidden beauty in SM, and it's something your post didn't mention. Sweet Million wasn't Pari-Mutuel so if you played the same set of six numbers more than once (suppose you played the same line five times) then you wouldn't win one million, you'd have won five million. And that actually did happen. Five separate SM tickets each with the same set of six winning numbers was purchased in Suffern, NY.

Players in NY voted with their dollars and didn't buy SM because the lower tier payouts given the odds needed to win a lower tier prize were high, yet the payout stunk. I think it was 18,000 to 1 to win a second place prize of 500 bucks. That absolutely sucks and it's why players turned their back on SM. In turn, turning their backs on the game led to very low "coverage" of SM's 3.8 million combos. That led to hardly anybody ever winning the top prize of $1,000,000 which was something everybody complained about.

So in a certain sense, NY players were partially responsible for SM's demise. The NY Lottery should have known many players don't play a game expecting to win the jackpot, but instead are playing hoping to win lower tier prizes. With the high odds to win a lower tier prize combined with lousy payouts it's no wonder players ignored the game.

As for me personally, I was sorry to see Sweet Million go. I was one of those crazy players that had the same line of six numbers five times on one ticket. I did that because what the NY Lottery advertised about the game was true. You couldn't find lower odds to win one million dollars anywhere. G5

So pleased you like the name.

As for All or Nothing, I honestly don't know how long they will keep it here. The lousy 5 Card Cash ran for years despite no one seeming to play it. I think AorN is seeing more in tix sales than its predecessor so we're probably stuck with it for a long time to come.

I agree, this game actually appeals to me and I would play it the same way you did with multiple tickets of the same numbers.

Of course my state offers the most mundane, boring, tedious, lousy~odd games imaginable so I won't hold my breath on getting a million+ jackpot game with such odds as you described anytime soon.
