hmmm...well

starting is 20m - so cash option is probably 15/16 million?

After taxes - not sure how much that would be left - 9/10 million maybe? Not sure how much federal is -

I could live off of that - no super big yachts or anything - but I dont need that.

Cigars for life and doing nothing all day sounds wonderful.

Investing that much even at low yield would work good enough for me.

Click on USAMEGA under the Quick Links. Select the game, MM or PB, then Jackpot Analysis. It will give you the year by year breakdown, before and after taxes.

Before you play there are 2 choices to make. Low sum or high sum and consecutive pair or no consecutive pair. Choose correctly and you go from 120 combos down to 30. Not a bad starting point.

What kind of question is that? I wouldn't return to work. Never will work for an employer. Work for myself, have the infrastructure to doing it, sell items buy cheap, sell for major profit. I have plenty of ideas to getting the economy going again. Sad that not many people know of dreams. I would def make sure amazon flex drivers get at least $25 hr and some type of ins for them and the vehicle.

Doesn't matter. I'm retiring at the end of the year anyways, so it would just push it up a few months.

Yeah I looked at that under the tab for my state a few weeks ago - I just was not sure if that also took out federal.

Either way - still a lot of money.

Thank You Unlucky-Kenny for the beautiful photo. It is so relaxing and my blood pressure was lowered when I just stared at it.

With Power Ball the cash lump sum is $121.2 million. Subtract Federal taxes and that will still be an unbelievable amount of $76,356,000.00. As stated in a previous thread, go to USA Mega and calculate your own State's taxes.

California and three or four States do not tax lottery winnings. That saves me 13.3%. I will remember that amount when I consider charitable donations. I figure I can support causes as well as my State can. I just cut out the middle man.

When I see the amount of taxes the IRS gets I remember the good things in the National budget. Like the National Parks, the final resting places for our fallen soldiers in France, Japan, and elsewhere, our Armed Forces, the Secret Service protecting our dollar from counterfeiters, the FBI when there is a kidnapping, our present government when it can be changed peacefully.

I can feel the nice cool air coming off that lake from that photo

I remember going to US MEGA awhile go to see the WI rate - its 7.65% - not the best not the worst.

I'd still do okay.

Lots of people working unseen for us both in country and around the world for our country - taxes pay for it all.

That's a great expanse of water there Kenny. Probably tons of salmon & other fish. I tell you, catching your very first fish is memorable,it lasts for a lifetime unlike your first kiss which could be lousy beyond measure.

Perhaps. However if you work for a company, you can always swing by " clean out your locker" so to speak, pick up your last check, if you must, shake a few hands if necessary and exit the building. I recall talking to a philipino plumber a few years back and he said that if he won anything over $20mil after all taxes are paid- he would leave his pickup in an area desperately needing a truck & tools* probably an area he knew, would have the Mrs pick him up & sunset the area. He said he knows his tools and truck were in good working condition, so no regrets, someone got a good deal for free.
