Not that it's any big deal because it's a common occurrence across Pick5 games all over the country but last night's set of five winning numbers (1,5,15,30 & 34) was drawn for the second time in FF5 history.  First drawn on 11/10/2017.  That's at least the 78th time that a set of five winning FF5 numbers has been drawn twice.

New  York's Take5 and Massachusetts Mass Cash have actually had one set of five winning numbers be drawn three times during their respective histories.  I dont know about Mass Cash, but NY's Take5 has had a set of five winning numbers be drawn more than 80 times since January of 1991 when that game began. The day will eventually come when FF5 will see a set of five numbers be drawn for a third time.  G5

Something has happen in FF5 that I completely did not expect.... Well, I really should say that I was completely WRONG about!

Number 27 was smokin' it since they implemented the midday drawing, and I was absolutely sure it was going to be the biggest hitter of 2023. But it has fallen off a cliff, and #15 has taken over the top spot.  #15 had been doing well since last March, but #27 was by far and away the top hitter.

Now, #15 has 97 hits in 2023 and #27 has 92 and has fallen to a rank of 5th place. Seeing how #27 fell to the number 5 spot from being ranked first ought to show you how badly it disappeared.

So never believe a word I write here with regard to what I think will happen.  My crystal ball aint workin' too good. G5

12/11 Evening Draw=11-17-19-30-31 O-O-O-E-O!

Hello Reven62, regarding Florida Fantasy 5, I was trying to apply your current formula to find out how many combinations there are in these 10 10 10 20 20, 10 10 30 30, 1 1 1 20 20 ......... etc, etc .

just like you did with EEEOO, EEOOE, EOOOE, ....etc, etc. but unfortunately it didn't work, do you have any idea if I have to add something else to =combin(), thanks.

Not for nuthin', but the addition of the midday drawing has changed the characteristics of FF5 with regard to the number of times a hot number hits.

I made an Excel spreadsheet for FF5 that goes back to 2002.  It shows the number of hits that the hottest number of each year had which fall into a range of 61 to 68.  By June 30th of any given year I could easily see which number was going to end the year as the hottest number because it had 31 to 34 hits on June 30th. So I'd give extra play to that number, and that worked out well for me in terms of the number of Free Tickets and three out of five matches I won.

But now there will be 730 drawings per year, not 365.  And that has changed the characteristics of how the numbers fall.  Used to be that the hottest number on June 30th had the lead and usually kept it from July 1st until December 31st.  That's no longer true as can be seen by what has happened this year to #27 and #15.

Also my copy of lottery software shows that after 730 drawings, the current hottest number (#22) has 115 hits which I think is indicative of how many hits per year the hottest number of the year will have in the future.  Notice too that 115 is not quite 122 or a max of 136.

So while all the midday drawing has done is produce one Hell of a lot more rolldowns, not to mention smaller jackpots (provided a player somewhere in Florida even hits the jackpot) The Florida Lottery thinks adding the midday drawing is great!  The FOOLS!!  G5
