five hello this if you divide the 5/36 lottery into 4 groups of 9 numbers, always one of the 4 groups will have two numbers in the worst case and a group may have more than two, why? because we have 4 groups and 5 numbers one of the 4 groups will have at least two in 100% you can check this, of course you don't know which of the 4 groups has to do in the 4 editions, it already reduces a lot of numbers this

Have you ever read a news story about people who die in Yosemite because they waded out into a stream just a short distance upstream of a 300' waterfall?
A lot of people don't think things through. Sometimes the likely result of something should be fairly obvious, and sometimes you need to know something that's not just common sense. Plenty of people are influenced by their own preconceptions, too.
I get why people dont really understand that the lottery can be played intelligently.
They lead busy lives, and probably don't have the time or inclination to take a deep dive into it. What little they do understand is that the odds make it almost impossible to win. That's fine...to each his own. Other people possess deeper knowledge/understanding of things that I have little to no knowledge of and am not interested in knowing.
For me, I enjoy studying how the numbers behave. It's one of my hobbies and helps me while away some hours of the day. Many times I've learned things about Pick5 games that aren't obvious at all. I bought lottery software quite a few years ago, and I quickly learned that without it, there's no way I could have possibly learned as much as I have in the time since I've owned it. It hasn't helped me win a jackpot, and maybe it never will. I'm OK with that.
I'll be the first guy to admit that buying a lottery ticket is a suckers bet. But I'd rather throw away/waste a few bucks knowing that I used my knowledge of how the numbers behave to give myself a better shot at winning. I lost more money than I've won and I expect to lose. That's OK too because I can afford to lose the amount of money I've lost. For the most part, I've won small prizes more often than my lottery playing friends. I attribute that to having lottery software and they dont.
Net of it all is I'm having a little fun and who knows? Maybe some day I'll be very glad that I played smartly. Play SMART! G5

Index is the count in the matrix. X1-X5 is the combination. Digit is the digit falling more than once in the combination. Count is the count of the values in that position. Position is the position....15 is first and fifth....23 is second and third.....125 first, second, and fifth.
The chart is a CSV file which can be opened with Excel, Libre, or Apache and sorted it by any column. This only applies to 5/36 games.

Last post on this one...(I hope) To feel comfortable with the percentage of error in the counts, I had to do the Florida Fantasy Five game for some idea of acceptable error. So we ran 9320 game data from 1995 to Oct 1, 2021. The results....

40.72% of the 9320 resulted in 5 unmatched back digits. There were 25 Double/Triples. Six draws with four of the same digit. 287 Triples. And 5678 draws that contained at least one double.
I'm comfortable knowing the Double/Triples make up about .27% (.00268) of a percentage point. Basically, it happens once in 370 draws.

I'm probably here unless I'm not.
