This kinda question only showz when lottery sales ain't doing good. Jackpot will eventually reach to 500mill up to raise more fanatics dreamerz to get them purchase more tickets.

This topic was discussed many times, but hasn't been discussed recently.

Maybe because life changing jackpots are not as rare as they once were. For instance there are currently four jackpots are over $100 million and 13 jackpots over $10 million. By using the multiplier feature on MM and PB, players have the chance of winning $2 million or more five nights a week.

Part of it might be because most players know how difficult it is to win a huge jackpot. But that doesn't mean they are not dreaming every time they buy that $1 dollar $2 dollar ticket so they can dream.

Just curious but would the bathroom where you play with your base balls, also be the same bathroom with a tub big enough for 10, or would that be a different bathroom?

Reality is that in a majority of cases the money Grandpa left to his children only rarely makes it to his grandchildren. It's a problem that the wealthy are all too familiar with and the reason why ultra high net worth (UHNW's) individuals hire what's known as a "Family Office." A Family Office is a wealth (money) management firm. It's their fiduciary responsibility to manage the family's fortune so that children and grandchildren (and future generations after grandchildren) get to benefit from the fortune that Grandpa made.

Grandpa knew how hard it was for him to attain that fortune. His kids and grand-kids don't have much appreciation for that. G5

I usually don't play lottery games that offer life changing jackpots. I'm much too practical for that sort of thing.

I spend my lottery budget on games with lower odds that typically offer $200,000 jackpots. (Pick5 games) We're in a comfortable financial situation, but if I won a jackpot of that size, it would make us a little more comfortable than we already are. We aren't totally debt free and with our current financial posture being debt free would be very nice. We're retired and have a small mortgage, but I'd rather not have to make that payment every month.

However, there is definitely a very impractical side of me. Although I want to be completely free of debt, I do have a lottery fantasy. Us old fools like to drive Corvette's. Do you know that the average age of Corvette owners is men in their 60's? So if I do win a Pick5 jackpot, there's going to be a 1960's or 1970's era 'Vette in my paid off garage. She'll be a beauty! I'll have her all fixed up nice, painted a nice blue, engine purrin' like a kitten, but when you stomp on that pedal, the roar will pop your ear drums. I'll put a nice set of raised white letter Goodyear tires on her too.

See, not having to make our mortgage payment every month is what will justify an old fool like me owning a 'Vette like that to The Mrs G5. There's no way she'd even sit in it, much less go for a ride in it. I can hear her now; "That thing is a huge gas guzzler! Don't you know how expensive gas is these days?" I'd say "I know, but we aint got a mortgage payment anymore so we can afford $5.19 a gallon. Besides, Joe Biden is workin' real hard to bring down prices, and I'll go to Costco to buy gas for it while we're waitin' for Joe to fix everything."

I know my justification stinks and she'll never go for it (she's a registered Republican), but it's all I got. G5

Ditto on the mortgage AND vintage Vette!

My brother way back in the late 60's had a '65 Corvette Stingray with a 327. It wasn't nearly as quick as today's Corvettes, but man, it sure looked good. It was a pretty blue.

You sound like someone who read the classic book "The millionaire next door." That book really formulated my approach to money.

Do not raise your daughter to look for a knight. Raise her to use the sword herself.

I've seen that book, but never found the time to buy it and read it. My source of knowledge (what little there is of it) is that someone in my immediate family is employed in the Financial Industry in New York City. Our client is just dipping his toe in the water. We know he'll be back with more. He just wants to take his time and proceed slowly." Must be nice.

The biggest single thing I've ever learned in speaking with my relative is that there is a whole lot more to having and managing huge wealth than most even people realize. To me that's pretty understandable... Us 99%-ers don't have big money, so we have no life experiences with what it takes to manage it, but most importantly, keep it. Anyone that wins millions of dollars playing the lottery and does not hire the kinds of financial pros that know how to manage it very likely wont have their lucky windfall for very long. G5
