So, quite a lot of People said that Lottery Clerks scammed them out of winning tickets. If you knew you had winning tickets and the Lottery Clerk falsely claimed your ticket was a loser, would you ever pretend to be an Undercover Lottery Official doing a Sting Operation? Saying something like,"I'm actually an Undercover Lottery Official for the Florida Lottery. This is a sting operation. That ticket you claimed was a loser is actually a winner. You have failed the sting operation. Just how many winning tickets have you told unsuspecting Customers were losing tickets?" Would you ever claim to be a Lottery Official doing a Sting Operation when a shady Lottery Clerk lies about a winning ticket being a losing ticket?

Pretending and representing yourself to be someone else, especially an official, is a crime. Your lack of ethics is appalling.

Your over the top fear about being scammed is not normal.

First, always make sure to sign your tickets, because it's worthless to a scammer if it is already inked with your name.

A more reasonable and effective response to your hypothetical situation would be scanning the ticket yourself with the app and showing the clerk that your ticket is indeed a winner. And if for some bizarre reason they still insist that it's not a winner (extremely unlikely), take your ticket back and tell the employee you are going to file a complaint with the lottery.

There's no need to escalate with a ruse pretending you are an official. How would that even work? They would ask to see some identification, and chances are you don't have anything that remotely looks like a lottery employee badge.

Not happening. It would not be worth the time, energy, or effort put in arguing with the clerk.

Likely to cost you more than you won if the po-po gets involved.

Retrieve the ticket and go somewhere else.

I don't see where you said you were going to do it yourself so is this just your curiosity to see if someone else would ?

What you have to do is record the clerk trying to scam you, leave, then come back in with the lottery official who was waiting outside.

Recording someone without their permission is illegal in many states, including Florida. The evidence would be excluded. It is also subject to civil and criminal penalties. Tasha is not a member of law enforcement to allow an exception.
