  I have a relative that owns and operates a used car lot.  He told me that anybody that gives cash to a car dealer these days is making a royal pain in the butt out of themselves to the dealer.

  Car dealers will accept cash, but they really don't want it.   They prefer a cashiers check because it's safer for them.  They have to send an employee to the bank with it and who knows what might happen.  Any more they don't even have to take a cashiers check to their bank.  They just scan the check and deposit it electronically in their bank account.  G5
