St. Jude, Shriners, Childrens Hospital of Detroit, probably any Hospital that helps with cancer in children.

I'd set up some kind of aid relief package to Africa. One that does what it says.

And I'd probably help out kids who need to be adopted.

Sometimes you do the right thing just because it’s right.

Life's a game of mathematics, if you can't figure that out I don't know what to tell you.

After seeing how much money DOESN'T actually go to some National Charities, I would start by heavily donating to some local charities around here like...

Surfing for Autism

Hot Line

Interfaith Community Outreach

Outer Banks Relief Foundation

I would also set up an account at a bank where upon my request, the manager would notify people in the community to come in to the bank and pick up a check anonymously.

and support with apprenticeships and

job placements to needy Young Adults.

anyone ever notice that a given percentage of lottery winners who went broke by falling into the "Charity Trap" ?!?

you might not be able to take it with you into the afterlife, but thats what kids and friends are for

No, with that kind of money the first thing you do is take 25 to 50 million and park it with fiduciaries. There is no "Charity Trap" there are only idiocy traps.

If I happen to win the MM, I would prefer a more hands on approach to charity as opposed to dishing out money big name charities.

Research shows that some - not all - of the big name charities are sitting on hundred of millions in endowments. Some charities can exist forever without even raising an extra cent by just living off the earnings from their endowment.

If my 1 million dollar donation is going to be used 30 years from now, I would rather give it to a smaller local charity that will use the money next month.

I would maybe get a food truck go to a homeless neighborhood and feed the people out there till they run out of food and pay for it all. I could do that once a week in different areas and/or states as I travel about.

The idea is a more direct impact approach to giving.

After all, there are still corporates who will be giving in the usual way to get their tax deductions and stuff.

I would stick with local charities as well or set up my own foundation.

St. Jude's has a terrible reputation for not sharing scientific research with other institutions and I think they spend as much as half of their budget on advertising.

Standard health/medical insurance of the parents is what is paying for the treatments. Until recently, parents of sick children were sleeping in cars since St. Jude would not help out the parents. Look it up.

Give $ to Universities with promising cancer research trials. They need endowments.
