What if I told you that the Pick 3 lottery only really has 35 numbers?

Would you believe me?

What if I said that these are the "core numbers" of the lottery:

That's it! No other numbers. Sounds crazy right?

Well, it's not. Here's why. We all know the lottery is supposed to have 1,000 numbers from 000 to 999. But, the lottery likes to use the mirror system. Because of that, most people don't realize that a unique number like 123, can be played 48 different ways! YES - 48!

If we understand the mirroring system, as well as the possible arrangements for a 3 digit number, then we can understand that equation would be: 6 possible arrangements x 8 possible ways it could be played using mirrors as well. That gives us 48 possible ways 123 can be played.

Think it's wrong? Well - look at the list. Print it out and count from 000 to 999. Mark it off and see if any numbers are missing! There's not. Use this list to your advantage, use it for your workouts, reference this, favorite this post so you can come back anytime. But here's the list:

A different version of VTracs. It's basically the VTracs Pick 3 Mirror Combinations chart, except formatted for box combinations instead of the straight combinations listed there.

Everyone has their own style of playing, and that's fine!

Just like every single one of us when we were growing up, we all learned differently. For me, this is the simpliest way to understand the pick 3 system. I will admit, I've seen the VTRAC system and I had no idea what I was looking at. I sort of understood it because I could see the same numbers different ways. But it was overwhelming and complex.

I was given this life with a mind that wants to understand "why". So my "why" to these numbers, is this simple list. I took the time myself over the past few months to figure this out just by learning what I was teaching myself.

Well, it's not. Here's why. We all know the lottery is supposed to have 1,000 numbers from 000 to 999. But, the lottery likes to use the mirror system. Because of that, most people don't realize that a unique number like 123, can be played 48 different ways! YES - 48!

If we understand the mirroring system, as well as the possible arrangements for a 3 digit number, then we can understand that equation would be: 6 possible arrangements x 8 possible ways it could be played using mirrors as well. That gives us 48 possible ways 123 can be played.

Think it's wrong? Well - look at the list. Print it out and count from 000 to 999. Mark it off and see if any numbers are missing! There's not. Use this list to your advantage, use it for your workouts, reference this, favorite this post so you can come back anytime. But here's the list:

There are 35 vtracs, but if you box all 1000 numbers there are 220 box combos.

If you could pick a vtrac a day and hit, but it is harder then it looks. I tried,

Many of us share your approach and passion to exploring interesting and effective ways to try and master this elusive game.

I appreciate that you've distilled the Pick 3 down to 35 numbers. I use to look at it that way too and discovered that we could go farther still.

I learned that the Pick 3 is only composed of 8 numbers and it is the main filter I use when playing the game. I called these Kola's Gr8 Filter.

In this perspective, numbers 0,4,5 and 9 are all mirrors of each other. We know that 5 is a mirror of 0, but 4 and 9 are mirrors of 0 too, albeit to a slightly lesser and more nuanced degree. Also doubles are really expressions or mirrors of singles. So for instance, 258 is relatively equal to 248, 778, 887 and so on...
So when all the above has been mapped out:
0 = 4,5,9
1 = 6
2 = 7
3 = 8
You are left with 8 Pick 3 numbers.

Once you determine which one of the eight groups of numbers you want to use, then you can determine which mirrors in that group you want to play.

All that's left to determine is if the numbers will land on either the 0=5 side of the mirror, or the 4=9 side of the mirror. You'll also have to determine if the number is going to be a single-unique number, a double (including fake doubles) or a triple.
