I agree in this day and age why in the world does it take so long for a draw after cutoff.

Probably to prevent past posting in any of the 48 PowerBall jurisdictions. Each of them has to certify none of their terminals can print PB tickets before the drawing. They won't conduct the drawing until all the jurisdictions have checked in and because that happened a couple times in the last year, some might make the cutoff time even longer. Found a list of all the cutoff times.

Check with your state lottery for drawing cutoff times for your state games.

The thing about cut off time to me is that it's automated.

It's software that's cutting off sales at all retailers terminals at whatever time the lottery arbitrarily decided they wanted terminals shut down prior to the draw. So who made that decision? Some programmer that works for the lottery while he/she was writing the code to do it? In the programmers defense it could have been in the documented program specifications he/she received to write the code. But now that it's in the code, the programmer would tell you "I cant make any decision to change the code. That'd be up to my boss and their boss."

It'd be a very simple coding change to move the shutdown time closer to the draw. Don't hold your breath waiting for them to do it. G5

That's been a big pain in my behind for years. In this age of instant communications, Bank A will tell you it takes a couple of days to move your money from them to Bank B. (YOUR Bank). Really??? In this day and age of "FINTECH"? Ask your banker this question - "Have you ever heard of Zelle?" Zelle moves money from your account in your bank to whomever you want it to go to's account in their bank, and Zelle does it INSTANTLY. (It's a bank account to bank account transfer) And without a FEE I might add. (Your bank pays Zelle to do that. See, Zelle aint that nice. They got bills to pay too.)

Funny how when you gave it to them, that bank received your money instantly, but for them to give it back to you, well, that takes a while. G5

Just look at how Ga'z Lottery Mainframe haz dodged my Cash3 Midday pickz by 1 numba 3 consecutive drawz..they're desperately running,.. Don't want the Math to prove ME right.

Not to mention the Playa Haterz heaa maliciously voting for "1 hr" cutoff preferencez..

Yea, I've noticed THAT wit Grubhub and the likez..but, it'z just their xscuse for holding on to Millionz of customer'z money (3-5 business dayz) to make intrest off it ..

I told'em that I'd write the FEDz (FTC) to report whut they're illegally doin.. they put my 💰 back the same day....So, they CAN do it..!!

Ya gotta give'em in-centive cauze..

I agree, they hold on to LOTS OF PEOPLES money because when you add it all up, all those peoples money is a ton of bucks that the banks are making interest on. I call BS on them for doing it, but The Fed's are letting 'em get away with it because there are no laws prohibiting banks from doing it.

I guess I could write my Congressman and tell him I want legislation passed to stop banks from doing this shady practice of theirs, but my pockets aren't as deep as the banking industry's lobby so I aint got a snowballs chance in Hell of effecting change. G5
