Of course, it takes only one ticket to win, and you would have a chance every drawing if you consistently play each drawing. However, if you were to buy a large number of tickets once a month, you would have significantly more chances to win on that particular drawing.

What are your thoughts?

Smart lottery winners form trust to claim their winnings. They send an attorney to the lottery headquarters to claim the prize in trust, so that ONLY the name of the trust is revealed. And they tell NO ONE, especially relatives.

If you ever win a lottery and you are single, the only person you should ever marry is someone who was truly in love with you BEFORE you won the jackpot!

People can talk about strategies and gimmicks all they want, but unless your ticket actually matches at least 5 of those 6 balls, you are just another person who tried to win a game yet ultimately failed.

That's a great question. Which day to pick is the problem. You need data that sticks out like a sore thumb that narrows things down to a point where 300 tickets or so might get you that elusive jackpot. But as we know, randomness will chew those stats up and spit them right back atcha. It's a gutsy move to wait it out and play a large amount of tickets one time instead of every day. I'm an every day player. I've hit 3 of 5 four times in the last week. My data isn't quite there yet to throw 3 to 5 hundred on one drawing. Maybe one day. Still working at it.

Tonight is a perfect example how randomness can throw stats right out the window. The rolling cash five winning numbers were 1-6-8-10-17. I had 6 as my key on 21 tickets. I managed to get 2 of 5 nine times. I was never going to play four numbers from 1 to 10. I not playing a sum of 42 or even 52. There are other stats, Statstalker. If I threw them at you, it would only confuse you more. If I would've played 300 tickets using 6 as my key. 3 of 5 guaranteed. I might have won half my money back. 4 of 5 unlikely. 5 of 5..no way.

Putting all into one, failure isn't an option because the rest of the time is going to be very boring. Shouldn't be on a whim like buying all the quick picks for one draw. Work out a strategy you can afford and stick to it.

The ticket cost of both MM and PB (and odds ) make it expensive to play even a few tickets every drawing especially playing other games too. So I only play when it's more likely the jackpot will be won, but over time It's probably a wash and I'll spend the same amount either way.

I gave up on the powerball after a year of playing. Three dollars a ticket and 69 numbers is ridiculous. In year four of my rolling cash five journey. Data getting better by the day. 1838 draws deep. Patterns are starting to show their colors.

I made a small profit playing RC5 but the system required filing out five play slips every drawing. The KY Lottery created a 5/39 game with the jackpot growing a minimum of $5000. Ohio's version pays $1 for matching 2 numbers, $10 for matching 3 and $300 for a 4 number match. KY's version pays has a dollar ticket, but it pays nothing for matching 2 numbers, $5 for matching 3, and $250 for matching 4.

For $2 a line, in KY we get $2 for matching 2 numbers and up to five times multiplier for the other two secondary prizes. While the $2 ticket creates much larger secondary prizes, it doubles the cost of play and probably too expensive for most system wheeling plays to make a small profit. These games and the $2 a line MM, PB, and "money for life" games are IMO designed more for players that mostly play the same numbers every day.

I have also had such arguments with myself, do I play everyday, once a week or do I play once or twice a month.

I used to play everyday based on the game available on that day.

Monday, Wednesday and Saturday - I would play one Powerball ticket with power play.

Tuesday and Friday - Mega millions with the multiplier.

On Thursday and Sunday would play lucky for life.

Took a one month vacation out of the USA and when I came back I have only played each game once a week.

I change my playing pattern based on my thoughts.

I think in November I will play lucky for life the whole month, will buy a 20 day multi draw ticket then do a 10 day multi draw that's 60 bucks total.

In October I could play 2 by 2 for the month - that's 31 bucks for the month.

That feels entertaining to me.

However the temptation to throw in a mega millions ticket would be so high.

All I know is that all these strategies, whether to buy many tickets at once or play several drawings etc have all been tried by members on this platform and am certain the results have been the same, lol

I believe winning the lottery jackpot is a 💯 % factor of luck.

May Fortuna, goddess of chance or lot vindicate me.

I am scaling back. I haven't set my new budget yet but my previous budget was $29 a week.

I may bring that down to $14 a week maybe.
