  When you find that you have lost yourself or frustrated with the lottery. And I live in Canada. So what I do is I take a break from the lottery. Sometime's for up to a week. Some people may need a longer break than that.  And when I feel less uncomfortable with myself and the lottery. I take a chance. And buy 1 or 2 ticket's. And that is all. I want to budget my money. Some time's I win. Other day's I have lost on a ticket. Lottery game's are not easy for alot of people. I tend to be too hard on myself. Which I am working on. But if you need a break from the lottery, then do it.  When you start to feel less stress. Then you will be ready to decide if buying a ticket will be fine for you. But do not over spend. And stick to a budget. Hopefully your life will improve no matter what your👍 decision is. All the best to you.

  This is hard, I don't even know how to advise you.

  However, am thinking, why do I play?

  I play because am chasing a dream.

  What type of dream am I chasing?

  It's a financial dream, of being financially independent.

  What if I redefine my dream and chase a different dream, one which does not involve playing the lottery or what if I change my strategy to achieve the same dream?

  Now that would require upfront work and time and sacrifices.

  Now we are back to square one, we want things to happen ASAP.

  I set a budget limit and stick to it and sometimes I let a drawing go by without playing. The day I can't let a drawing pass by, then I will know I have a problem.

  I wouldn't advice you to stop 🛑, but you can move from 100mph to 50mph to 25mph to 10mph to 5mph and gradually come to a stop 🛑.

  Now substitute the MPH with $$$$

  I believe winning the lottery jackpot is a 💯 % factor of luck.

  May Fortuna, goddess of chance or lot vindicate me.

  It's about self control. I sometimes refer to buying a lottery ticket as "feeding the monster".

  You can't overfeed the monster. I did for several years. But I also kept track of my spending. One year I spent over $2600 on lottery tickets. At the end of the year I realized how stupid it was and decided to reel it in. I have a budget that I keep. Just today at work I was leaving and walked by the lottery vending machine. I stopped and stared at the scratch offs for a minute and was about to play a $5 ticket. Then thought about my budget and moved on. Did I pass up a winner? Maybe. Probably not. But I don't regret not buying that ticket.

  I never had an issue with lottery spending. Maybe because I only started playing a bit when I joined LP. I always considered another $1 in my 401k and my mortgage was worth a thousand times more than a long shot jp win. I even did without a car the first 4 years after finishing my education since I was saving every dime to put a large down payment on a future home.

  The lottery is entertainment only. I worked for my dreams and I just like guessing lottery numbers on occasion.

   It has never been a fix for something missing from my life nor should others view it as such.

  I jumped down the lottery rabbit hole losing myself 25 years ago and I'm so glad that I did. I'm just emerging now coming full circle with everything I had hoped for. My advice is to go back to the basics each time if you feel lost and to keep doing that.
