What do you thnk will happen with these games?

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I vote same, same. It's too soon for Megamillions to give up on their "new and improved" product, and Powerball will not repeat the mistake and join the loser lotto club.

I could see a new national lottery launching in the $1-$2 per ticket range. People will want something for Tuesday's and Friday's to replace Mega Millions.

I don't see the price of tickets for Mega Millions dropping. There are enough people out there who will keep buying tickets out of habit so it will limp along with the occasional hyped up jackpot run.

I'm sure MM folks are well aware players are unhappy with their "improvements". But, it's too late to turn back now.

Eventually power ball will be the national lottery with Mega Millions breaking up. It will be replaced by several "Regional" multi state lotteries. For example Texas, Florida, and California will have their own multi state and then the next 10 largest states will pool into their own multi state with the rest of the states having their own multi state lottery.

Cash for life and lucky for life may ad Jackpot options where for a buck extra you get to go for a jackpot also ... the only change would be to draw a jackpot ball so you would have #,#,#,#,# and the lucky ball and the jackpot ball eg 1,2,3,4,5. 18 lucky ball and 36 jackpot ball so you could actually win the 365k and the jackpot if you matched all five and the lucky ball and the jackpot ball or you could get either the jackpot or the 365. The only prizes you would get with the jackpot ball is either the jackpot for 5 and 1 or for just matching the Jackpot ball alone a free ticket with the jackpot option. There would be no other prizes with the jackpot ball because the whole point is to have a jackpot.

When jackpots are comparable I'll buy pb tickets when mega is higher I'll buy mm

I dont think they care about a bunch of pissed off boomers putting their money elsewhere. Their timing was terrible but they're getting the results they wanted even if they haven't had a billion dollar run up, they're making more money selling half as many tickets.

There is no elsewhere for players to put their money, and I think they think the whiners are idiots who don't understand what's happening. PB and MM are managed separately, but they both funnel money from lottery players to state treasuries and aren't competing against each other. It's like thinking the people selling Coke are upset about people not buying Coke because they prefer to spend their money on Diet Coke.

Exactly. The goal was to increase revenue, and so far they've averaged more money for the first 20 drawings than they did before the change. They haven't had a really big jackpot to drive big sales yet but there's a very good chance this run will have one soon. Assuming that happens, we can also expect really big sales. We may not see the same ticket sales at 1 billion as PB got, but if they sell half a s many ticket they'll rake in 25% more than PB.

I think it's also a safe bet that a significant portion of the current whiners will be helping the sales at that point.

I got my MM ticket for today - am happy that I got a x5 on it.

Yes, $5 feels like alot, but I could also very easily spend $5 on another non significant purchase (I won't say coffee, I don't want to throw all coffee lovers under the bus 🚐) 🤣🤣

But you get the idea 💡

I believe winning the lottery jackpot is a 💯 % factor of luck.

May Fortuna, goddess of chance or lot vindicate me.

The closest i can see is the sequence and pattern on both lotteries. if I can figure out which numbers might be able to hit.
