I never did any software. So you all tell me. Does it work? your preferences??
No, it doesn't work. Nothing can predict random numbers in a fair drawing. The balls have no memory and have no preference for being drawn more frequently or less frequently than expected.

depends on what the software promises to do exactly. if it promises to analyze past drawings and then organizes that data for you in a nice digestible format, then it works. lots of players like to know the frequency of numbers hitting in a certain date range, and lots of programs do that.
if it promises to give the winning combinations, then it's junk. if anyone knew how to predict the lottery they would be doing just that, not peddling $29.99 software.
aside, what does "i know nothing mean" in the voting options?

There are two I've always thought have the potential to win. Based on luck and common sense probability would be Lotto Pro aka Windows Lotto Pro by Data Solutions. Based on filtering choices, LotWin Lottery Line Builder is the only software I've seen that can show you how it would have won if you'd made the correct choices. If you don't think this matters, try making any of the others provide the winning combination among its picks working back through the history. You can't win if your software can't produce the winning combination, it has to be win capable.

I voted "It has helped me win" but I've never won a jackpot using it.
I base that on the frequency that I have won small prizes using it than my lottery playing friends do that don't have and use it. When people ask me if I think it works, I always say "You'll probably see an increase in the number of small prizes that you win, but you're still going to need a lot of luck along with using software to win a jackpot."
I learned a lot about the behavior of the numbers in two states Pick5 games (a 5/39 matrix with one draw per day and also a once daily 5/36 matrix) by using it. But then The States of New York and Florida (which has the 5/36 matrix) went to two draws per day with their respective Pick5 games which didn't do anybody any favors whether or not you have software. Going to two draws per day simply lowered the top tier prize amounts which weren't life changing anyway.
Prior to the switch to two draws per day, with NY's Take5 (5/39) I could easily see by September which number would have approximately 60 hits on December 31st, and that number would usually be the top hitting number of the year. So during the last quarter of the year, I gave that number extra play. It never failed - the Take5 top hitter of the year prior to NY holding two draws per day had 60, 61 or 62 hits. Saw that happen in many different years.
My software tells me that the top five hitting Power Balls (red balls) since 10/7/2015 which was the last time the PB Matrix was changed are 4, 21, 24, 18, & 25. I play those Red Ball numbers quite a bit, and I've won many small prizes by doing that. I add the Power Play option (usually it's x2) which helps a bit. If I'm lucky enough to have a few white balls along with the Red Ball, then I win a little more cash.
So IMHO, there are things that software can tell you that might give you a slight edge. (And those things are invisible without having/using software) G5

No paid software can give you better odds than just playing a QP (and I am not a fan of QPs). No free software either. They can display statistics in a chosen range just fine, but if you think about it, if these programs worked, they would stop offering the games. From the perspective of an avid hobbyist who likes to code, none of my many attempts worked either (outside of a rare coincidental hit here and there)... I have been at this (on and off) for over 20 years.
No matter how fancy the landing page, paid lottery software that promises to beat the odds is an outright scam. You are just as valid playing a license plate number, a fortune cookie number, or looking up what number allegedly is supposed to come up if you have some certain dream about something.
If you want to try software, look for a free program. This site has plenty of software tools at your disposal.
For most of my years of "research" a spreadsheet was the go to. Now I usually write Python scripts and still use spreadsheets. I like the DIY approach better because at least you can learn some things along the way, even if the desired results never come.
There is some level of honesty when a hobby lottery software developer votes NO when asked if lottery software works...

Last nights PowerBall Results - 15 29 64 66 67PB 4 PowerPlay was x2
Here's a perfect example of what I was talking about in my above post.
I went grocery shopping with my wife yesterday. While we were walking around in the store I reached in my pocket, and saw that I just happened to have three one dollar bills. So I went to the service counter and filled out a PowerBall play slip. I marked the PowerPlay box, then in the top panel I marked the QP box. I filled in #4 in the The PB panel.
Why did I choose #4 for the PB? Because it's the all time best hitting PB since 10/7/2015 with 60 hits. I know that's true from my lottery software, and the fact that I've done this sort of thing so many times.
My ticket had one line on it that looked like this - 34 40 46 49 69 PB 04.
I won $8.00. So as you can see, I won another small prize which I attribute to knowing what my copy of lottery software told me. This kind of thing happens to me fairly often. Without having software, I doubt I'd have known that the #4 PB is the best hitter since October of 2015.
Here's what going to happen next Saturday - I'll cash in my 8 dollar winner, add another dollar bill to it and buy three lines of PB with The PowerPlay added. Three lines of PB with The PowerPlay that costs me a buck aint too bad. Of course I'll pick the PowerBall number from these five - 4, 18, 21, 24, & 25.
BTW The #25 PowerBall is the top hitting PB of 2025 with 10 hits this year, and the last time it hit was on August 27th. (another couple of things my software tells me) So maybe I'll use #25 as my PB selection.
One more thing and then I'm done. I bought the license for my copy of the software more than ten years ago. I know I've won more than the $125 that it cost me. So why not use it? Cant hurt...and ya never know either... maybe some day I wont believe my eyes when I check my ticket to see if I won anything or not. G5
