As hard as I might try to disguise the fact that just one player won five times (10 million dollars) by buying five separate one line tickets at five different stores located in three different county's, I have to believe The Fla Lottery would suspect something was "up" if it actually happened.
First of all, FIVE two million dollar winning tickets sold in Florida in a single PB drawing??? That doesn't happen much if it's ever even happened at all in the past, which I doubt. There was one winner of one million dollars sold in Florida in last night's PB drawing, but I've noticed in the past that when that happens, the Fla Lottery website does not even report which county in Florida the ticket was sold in. I have seen reports of second place prizes in the local media stating what county the ticket was sold in, but I guess they called asked The Fla Lottery and asked for that info.
The Lottery would see three different county's but they'd also probably notice the towns where the tickets were sold are in close proximity to each other. But still, they couldn't be sure what was actually going on. When I claimed one ticket for the first time, they'd still be not sure exactly what had happened. But after that, depending on when I started claiming the others they'd quickly figure out what was going on.
Sure would be fun/nice to be the guy watching the expression on somebody's face that works for The Fla Lottery when the situation was unraveled and became clear to them!! Oh well. I guy can dream..... G5
If you're trying to remain anonymous, structuring your ticket purchases and winning ticket claims is the opposite of what you should do, not to mention that you're wasting time and fuel to spend $3 per line.

Speculating about me wasting gas when I'm in Florida and you're in Colorado makes you look stupid. I know if I'm wasting gas or not, you don't.
But you are correct about what I should do which is claiming smartly. I'd be smart about it by hiring an estate and asset protection attorney and have them claim it as the legal representative of the revocable living trust I'd have them set up. (The Florida Lottery allows an entity such as an LLC or a trust to be the official claimant of the prize) All it really amounts to is smart legal planning.
I was thinking that I'd claim anonymously using Florida statue 1024.51 but I've decided against that because that statue is set to be sunset in October of 2026 unless The Florida Legislature renews it before October. Besides that, in Florida claiming anonymously is temporary. After a grace period of 90 days, the Florida Lottery will make a big winners name public.
The real problem I have is I cant decide on a good name for a trust. There are so many unconventional/unique names out there. Maybe I could name it "The Watchman's Gone Trust" or "The If You Could Read My Mind Trust". Or maybe I'll name it "The Seven Island Suite Trust". Of course I gotta WIN first, but we'll see.
Aren't you glad you were so speculative with your reply? Now you've got a good strategy for claiming in Florida! Not that you'll ever need/use it. Here's a constructive suggestion for you - Why don't you spend your time a bit more intelligently by gaining a good understanding (like I have with Florida) of what your legal options are in Colorado instead of making yourself look bad? G5

Wow, Im so glad I live in Texas. You can win a jackpot prize and remain anonymous. There's no grace period or anything like that. You get your money and move on without anybody knowing outside Lottery officials.

I did not "speculate" on whether it's a waste of gas to buy three lottery tickets in three different counties when the exact same purchase can be made in one stop. That is FACT. "Disagreeing" with that is like "disagreeing" that the Earth is round or the sky is blue.
When I write things on this board, I do so not from the point of view of a so-called "know-it-all" as you claim. I write from the point of view of an educated adult who is not mentally ill. Being educated, specifically in mathematics, with an emphasis on probability theory, and not mentally ill with paranoid schizophrenia, and not a whiny brat like justing618 is most certainly NOT being a "know-it-all". Stat$ and justing618 have a very poor grasp of basic logic and they blame their mental shortcomings on other people, which is why I stopped responding to their posts. I stopped responding to your posts on "lotterology" because you've made it clear you are committed to that insanity, and I'm never responding to GiveFive ever again because I have no interest in dealing with miserable people.
Fortunately this board has plenty of other functional and mentally stable adults who don't attack other members like this.

Texas does appear to be easier not to mention cheaper than Florida to claim anonymously.
In Florida a player could utilize statue 1024.51 to claim anonymously and fore go using an attorney. That said, after 90 days the Florida Lottery would release the name of the winner to anyone that asks them. The Florida Lottery thinks 90 days is enough time for a winner to get a head start on doing a disappearing act. I dunno, I guess that all depends on the winners personal situation.
As for me, I'd pay the attorney to set up a blind trust so as to gain permanent anonymity, and I'd be willing to pay for estate planning services along with setting up a trust. I think I'd name the trust "The Ghost From a Wishing Well Trust". G5

Hey Stat$... nice to see you posting in this thread.
I took exception to Tucker Black's speculation about me wasting gas because he couldn't possibly know my daily routine, coupled with the fact that those other two county's are in very close proximity to my house. Because he's in Colorado and I'm in Florida he's forced into the realm of speculation. And even if he as he said was just trying to be helpful, his interpersonal skills or his brand of delivery of helpfulness needs a bit of work IMHO. He might be cognitive dissonant, but I better not go there because then I'd be speculating and I don't want to do that.
Is it possible that I'm wasting gas? Sure it is! But not very much. IMHO, If I'm wasting a tenth of a gallon of gas, that'd be a lot. Everyday I drive in and around in at least two of those county's doing the things that I either have or want to do. I wonder if he even bothered to think something like that might be the case? I doubt it, because if he had, he probably wouldn't have fired off a one line statement that was as stupid as it was. At the very least he should have considered how his single line of helpfulness would fall on my ears, but I've seen him do the same thing as he did to me to other LP members so his self awareness or how he comes off to other posters is pretty thin.
How much does a tenth of a gallon of gas cost these days anyway? Let's see... gas where I live is $2.75 per gallon, therefore I'd be wasting 27.5 cents per trip. Aint that somethin'? I think I can afford to waste roughly a quarter a day, but maybe not. Who knows???? But Tucker seems to know!
Actually, given all three county's are located very close to my house, and I gotta go over there anyway, it's kinda hard for me to see how I could possibly be wasting gas....
Oh well. To each his own I always say. G5

Hi.
Well said!
Something I should have put in my reply to Stat$ is that Tucker isn't alone in this world. There are plenty of people that suffer from the same personality affliction that he does.
Case in point -
I see that you're located in Michigan so you mat not know that in October of 2024 The West Coast of Florida was slammed pretty hard by Hurricane Milton. Much of the "common areas" of my HOA community were damaged. ($664,000 worth of repairs had to be made) So The HOA decided that they'd levy a Special Assessment of $661 on each house within the community to pay for the damage. It just so happens that I was aware of the fact that my homeowners insurance policy would cover that 661 bucks. (With a ZERO deductible I might add!) The Residents were furious at the HOA for not reaching into a reserve fund that had been set up to pay for such things until they learned that the Special Assessment was to replace the funds they had withdrawn from the reserve fund, and had entirely depleted it. The fund actually had less than $664,000 in it, so they put the money they collected back into the reserve fund.
I told my across the street neighbor to check his homeowners policy to see if he was covered for the Special Assessment. Bad move. His reaction was "You're wasting your time! They won't pay for that! And even if they do pay for it your insurance company is going to RAISE your rates if you put in a claim!"
So knowing that he's the type of guy that thinks he's right 100% of the time about anything and everything, I simply said "Yeah right". I put in a claim, and my homeowners insurance company electronically deposited $661 into my checking account. But before I filed that claim I made a phone call to my insurance company and asked if I filed a claim, would they raise my premium? Their answer - "You haven't filed any claims against your policy, therefore your first claim is forgiven, and has no effect the price you pay toward premiums."
I generated a screen shot of the deposit on my iPhone and the first chance I got I showed it to my neighbor. He said "Well that's good . I paid the $661 out of my pocket." Then he completely shocked me with this gem - "In the past people have called me a know it all, and I've even heard that some have said that I was an ***hole."
I wanted to say "I can see why" but I thought better of it and let it go by saying nothing. There is no fixing my neighbor's personality and nobody can fix Tucker's either. HE might be able to do it, but my guess is he wont even try. G5

Good point!
What annoys me about my neighbor is he's so CONVINCED that he's right. And he subtlety infers that you're an idiot if you don't agree with him.
He entered into speculation land about me filing an insurance claim when he had absolutely no idea of what the language in my insurance policy said! I doubt he even knew what the language in his policy said! But that didn't stop him from putting his mouth in motion before putting his brain in gear. He absolutely refuses to say less by keeping skid chains on his tongue.
It isn't people are attacking Tucker's intellect. They're talking about his annoying personality. He doesn't understand that at all. G5
