You're obviously too young to recall the days of hundreds of thousands (a million maybe?) paper lottery tickets inside of a spinning 7 foot tall wire mesh drum with a trap door in it.

The drawing was held in a theater in front of a live audience, the drum sitting up there spinning on the stage.

The drum stopped spinning, a pretty young lady opened the trap door and stuck her arm in the trap door as deep as it would go. She'd swish her arm around for 10 or 15 seconds and pulled out the big winner. She handed the ticket to an emcee who read the ticket number out loud.

It was all on TV for the world to see, the audience sitting in their seats wildly cheering. The big winner was never in the audience....

If the fix was in, nobody could see it happen. But back then, just like today, nobody cared about that. G5

I think I'm kind of fortunate to have lived during the times that I've made my life's journey. I saw (on film) a Presidential assassination, the first man walk on the Moon, and many other historical firsts.

The thing that sucks about that is I'm now an old fool!!

I haven't got a clue what I'd do with the money I'd receive for a jackpot win. It's all pretty much a been there, done that for me. But one thing I do know is I sure as Hell wouldn't give a dime of it to anybody other than my family! Even then they'll have to wait a while til they see it. Think I'll scare 'em a little bit by giving a big chunk of it to charity. Crazy old curmudgeons like like me like to do that shirt. Dunno why. We just do. G5

By the way, that "big winner" who The Looker pulled his ticket outta the drum?? He won 50 grand. But in the 1960's that was huge money. G5

Bought a ticket today around noon in the 117,000 range. Looking at Winterbird's sales data chart (thanks WB!) it seems reasonable to estimate 4,000 more sales today, to put the total sales for interim draw 1 at around 121,000.

So if this estimate is close to actual sales, then it looks like odds of winning one of the 2,498 prizes in interim draw #1 would be 1:48. Odds on both the $100,000 and $10,000 prize tiers would be 1:40,333. $5,000 is 1:24,200 $1,000 is 1: 10,083 $500 is 1:537 $100 is 1:53.

The banquet you enjoy depends on what you bring to the table.

Against my better judgement,,,,,,,,

I was in Publix late this aftrenoon, and I just couldn't resist the temptation to.................... (especially when I saw that twenty dollar bill in my wallet that wasn't earmarked for anything! Actually I realized that it was what was left of my March Lottery budget funds so I figured what the Hell!)

A Fool and his money you're scoffing at me????? Sheeeeee-yit! I say!

That 121,000 tickets sold for draw #1 guesstimate of Sum Buddy's aint all that bad either. Matter of fact it's pretty durn good, if ya ask me. G5

121,7xx ticket number purchased at 9:30 pm, so we are probably looking at about 122,000 or so sold for the first round.

Reporting that I am thoroughly screwed, because I won $100 but I don't have rent money. This was like my last shot at making rent. I didn't have crazy dreams, was just hoping for the 5k prize. 🫠

(What I spent on this would not have been enough to cover rent. And I'm $20 up with the $100 win.)

Did anyone fair out with a decent win this run? I didn't purchase a ticket at all. Hopefully in April I can.

If ya ask me, there's a 'hidden danger' with these raffles.

What if one of the million dollar winning ticket numbers is 678123 and my ticket number is 678122 or 678124???? Don't wanna know what that feels like. But somebody is gonna get to find out what that feels like. G5
