This was bought to my attention from jimjwright regarding my prior post of DC Pick 5 1-200 million odds

As of right now Dc 5 has played all single digits 36 times in a row. Not 1 duplicate digit has been played in the 36 draws. Duplicate digits make up roughly 70% of the numbers. Mathematically this is impossible and seems to be what happened to pick 3 and Pick 4 in Tennessee in 2007

In all, players bought about $2 million in tickets that could not win because they contained duplicate digits, the comptroller said.

After the programming error was found and fixed, the lottery temporarily increased Cash 3's top cash payout from $500 to $599 and Cash 4 from $5,000 to $6,000. The lottery also paid $762,507 in refunds and $549,259 in increased prizes.

The episodes began as soon as the lottery switched on July 28 from the mechanical ball system to a computerized system for generating random winning numbers in the Cash 3 and Cash 4 games.

The problem stemmed from a mistyped letter in the computer application for the live draw. Because coding included a "u" for "unique" — instead of "r," for "repeating" — the machine was incapable of drawing repeating digits as winning combinations, such as 9-6-9 or 2-2-0-6.

The company that tested the equipment, Gaming Laboratories International, checked a test-draw mechanism before the software went live, but did not test the flawed live draw program; the company claims its contract did not require it.

I have taken advantage of this got 3 hits but it's still so hard and box pay for pick 5 doesn't pay much when it's 5 different digits. Big money is double pairs, triples and quads unless you gonna catch it straight.

Yeah, something is askew.

Tonight's DC5 draw makes 40 repeats of the A B C D E - Singles.

Below is a % Probability and Odds table for an event that has an average rate of reoccurrence of (100,000 / 30,240) ≈ 3.31 draws.

As the repeats keep happening, the probability diminish and the odds grow exponentially.

Tomorrow's midday draw would make a singles repeat the 41^st consecutive and the odds of the happening are 1 in 242,413.45.

We're not saying it's impossible, just very improbable.

Interesting this Singles Only event just happens to occur during a promotion going on in April.

The Singles Only event began 2026-03-30 Evening Draw and has not picked any other box sets since.

Digits 6,7,9 have been a popular triad for month of April. So while this singles event is going on I might play 6,7,9 triad with remaining 7 digits 0,1,2,3,4,5,8 in box forms. That would be 21 box combos to win $425

Maybe 67901. 01 is a hot pair

279 as a triad is also a good choice

does dc lottery use computerized drawings? as of right now, all 39 april pick 5 drawings have been singles, and the probability of that happening randomly is 5.5295 x 10^-21. that's 1 in 181 quintillion. lol.
