glad that you wrote back. alot of times people will ask me questions but few respond. i don't pretend that everyone will agree with my answers, i would like to hear there reponses to see if i have addequately answered there questions. or if they have more. fortunately you did. i don't know what posts you have read of mine but i have answered alot of questions. many that you still might have. you can read all my posts by typing in "visiondude" in the search option on the front page. todd is falling to pressure from others because they don't like or agree with what i am saying. they are using the excuse that we are not talking about the lottery but religion. i beg to differ. we are talking about the values of life that some (but not all in here) in here adhere to and consider (god) in there decision making. there is alot of "stuff" that is discussed in here that todd does nothing about. nasty offensive stuff. i have never broken one rule in here. just because someone doesn't like what i am saying is not grounds for expulsion. if you don't like it , thats ok , don't read it. but there are plenty of people who do. it helps them in there daily decision making including how it relates to the way they play the lottery. while it is not a great feeling to "feel" lost with no direction and no hope for your future, that can be an exciting place in life to be. i know for certainty it is a place in your life where you are most likely to "find" god. god himself promises that if you are looking for him with "all your heart" you will find him.it's the people who play games with god that never do.people make a list up for god to do or perform and when god doesn't do what "they" have asked him , they split. when anybody comes to god for a real relationship that person must come to god as god has stated that every man should thru his provision for each one of us - thru christ. god is god and we are man. in that context it is god that makes up the rules , not the other way around. you come to god on his terms and you will find him. if you/i try to come to god on our terms, he cannot be known. and just so that we are clear, you can know god right now. you do not have to wait until you die to know if you are right with him, you can know now. you can know that he loves you, accepts you and has a plan for your life that is beyond anything that you can paint for yourself. the bible does say that in heaven we will be recognized by people who have known us here (earth). but it also says that we will not have the physical, mental limitations that we experience here. the bible is somewhat silent on alot of what goes on in heaven. the main thing will be that we will worship god face - to - face. there will be eating and drinking. i can't remember for sure but i don't think that we will ever sleep (physical limitations)but i am not 100 % sure. i would have to study up on that one.the bible says that we will get new bodies which will not be subject to aging or disease. we will probably be from all i have read pretty much the same physically. there is no physical distintion made so that might address the still born issue. we will all be humans with new bodies. the only distinction between people in heaven that i am aware of are those who have been the most faithful to god as he reavealed his will to them. the more faithful the greater your reward. i have heard people mention the age of 12 as an age that god uses to assert accountability. i don't see how that can be true straight across the board. example : if you are 11 years old and reject christ, god still must accept you because you didn't make it to twelve. had you made it to 12 you would have been dead meat (lol). that doesn't make sense just because not everyone is mentally/emotionally the same at age 12. god is fair in that he will judge each person on what they did with christ. only god knows at what age that each person is that they are fully capable to understand what it means to accept or reject christ. in order for god to be fair (which he is) the person must "fully" understand the ramifications of accepting or rejecting christ. each person is different which brings up the retarded issue. obviously thier mental capabilities are diminished so there age of "accountability" would be higher. or maybe god has created them with the incapacity to fully understand gods plan for salvation. if that was the case then god has given them a "free-pass". the 12year old age of accountability thing has been floating around for some time. that is one of the reasons why i encourage people to read the bible themselves so they can have all the answers to thier questions - everyone !!!!! the bible is clear and diffinitive on one point about heaven. it says : "that in the presence of god there is FULLNESS OF JOY. no more sin , no more sadness , no more evil and no more tears - only joy. which is why god will expel anyone who hates him. there will never be any elements in heaven that will spoil the joy that god has planned for those who are faithful to him. god has made it clear, you either love him or hate him. you are either for him or against him. the way god views this is absolute, there is no middle ground, no riding the fence. it is an all or nothing propisition with god. but before i scare you i have to accurately represent god by saying that once you come to him (by his rules)he DOES NOT require perfection from us. just an honest effort each day to let god do with us as he pleases. you learn a little more about how to do that everyday, if you make the effort. but until we come to him, god sees us as estranged from him. it is our sin that seperates us from him. all or nothing. the pick 3 question : once you know god it would blow your mind on how concerned he is at work behind the smallest of details of your life. we think in terms of "BIG" when we think about god. we think that he is only concerned when there is a problem. that is not so. every thing in your life concerns god and he does not miss anything about you. so yes even the pick 3. thank's for your kind words about my "financial hole". god has spoken to me about my financial future and fortunately i know that it won't always be this way. but what if it were? people have problems that god has "designed" for thier lives that will last a lifetime. because i have seen how faithful and good that god has been to me and how he has ALWAYS done what he said that he would do , i would still serve him. when the "fire" gets turned up it tells what a person really believes. one disclaimer for me: i am NOT like those idiots (preachers) on tv who keep telling people that it is gods will for "everyone" to be healthy and wealthy. that is a gross mis-representation of who god is. it is not in the will of god for everyone to be healthy and wealthy. the only ones that are getting "wealthy" are the tv preachers(makes me so mad!). and remember our friends the "retarded"? he has made each one of us with a purpose. god "places" each one of us in the different "aspects" of life. god is at some time going to take me out of it but only because he wants to change the direction of my life to use me in a different way then he has used me up until now, nothing more. with my circumstances being difficult, i am able to bring hope to alot of people who are hurting/searching. they are more apt to listen to someone who has "been there". it adds credibility. if i was at one time "hopeless" and my life now has "hope", then people will listen. god has taken me down this road not so much for me (although i have benifitted)but so i am able to give others hope who are otherwise "hopeless". charlie , you can know god today! i can provide the necessary tools for you to know him but only when you are ready. if you are feeling "hopeless" it is because your heart longs to be filled by god. he is calling you to him. but he is a gentleman, he has created you with a free-will and will not kick your door down. you have to ope

So God speaks to you? You actually hear his voice? And when I want to pray to God, do I have first ask Jesus for permission to get to God?
-
The Rock says that when he saw your question he laughed, not out of being mean or cruel or anything but that he never thought that people where so unknowledgeable and naive about God. I am glad and more importantly God is glad that you have him on your mind and hopefully in your heart. I hope that you accept his son Jesus Christ as lord and savior and establish a real genuine personal relationship with him because he wants us all and loves us all including you. He wants to get to know you and you to give him control of your life so that he can lead you to the right path to glad and so that you may experience his blessings and goodness. As far as The Rock knows God does not talk directly to anyone these days in the form of hearing his voice although he can because he is God and for that matter he may have, but from The Rock point of view he has talked to him, through his heart and his conscious and the thoughts in his minds and by strange coincedences and blessings out of know where(we are talking about God). Bottom line he will talk to anyway he chooses so keep alert and on the job so that when he does you may hear him calling you. As far as going to God you do not exactly have to ask Jesus for permission, you must go to him in Jesus name such as; Heavenly father I prayed that you will watch over today and guide me and protect me from all those who wish me harm. In Jesus name I pray Heavenly Father Amen. The Rock disagree with Visiondude about recognizing people in heaven because you will not because some of your family and fiends aint going to make it and God does not want you to suffer because of that so he will make you completely knew and erase your memory so that you will forget. That is why it is so important to tell people that you love how you feel about them because after they are gone you may not see them again depending on who is saved or not and where they are going after they die. But The Rock says before you start talking about heaven and getting ahead of yourself have you done the requirement and turn over your life to God and accepted his son as lord and savior? The ROck cannot wait for that glorious moment when he comes to rapture his church for eternity with him and he looks forward to it each day and knows that it is getting awful close.

rock , you are back !!!! (wahoooooooooooooooooo) i smell what you are cooking . how have you been? glad to see you in here. that is right on what you said to charlie. he is searching just like we all have. when he want's to , he will and that would be cool to see someone come to know god. there is a huge difference between knowing "about" god and actually "knowing him". we have and are providing the "tools" for him to "know him". as far as the staement i made about whether we will know/recognize people in heaven the bible actually says that we will. that was not an opinion or assumption on my part, it says that we will recognize people. you are right in that only the people that accept christ will be there so those will be the people that we recognize that were somehow involved in our lives here on earth that knew and followed christ. the bible says : "and we will be known just as we WERE known". even though we will have new bodies in heaven there will be something about each one of us that is "recognizable", but i am not sure how that works exactly. whenever i respond to people on questions about god i make every effort to differentiate between what is just my opinion and what god has to say specifically in his word. you and i both know that man has messed up the "message" of god by adding thier opinions. that is why i make every effort to tell people when i am giving my opinion vs. gods own words on the subject. when it comes down to it though, no mans "opinion" matters. the only thing that matters is what god has to say. and that includes whether we like or understand "his" explanation" or not. man has mis=represented god so many times because they didn't like the "explanation" so they just make up something else based on what they "feel". that is why there are literally thousands of "religions". the key to knowing who god is and what he wants and how he feels about any given subject is to spend time reading his word (the bible). that is how we can differentiate between what god thinks and how we "feel".
anywhoooo , glad to see you again........visiondude"i am .........."meant to"

charlie , the rock is right. although god can actually speak to a person in an audible voice, that has never happened to me. i have never known anyone that it has actually happened to them. there are people out there who say that it has happened to them but when they say that it automatically raises a red flag with me. it's not that god couldn't, it's just that he usually doesn't. the people (like some tv preachers) that say god has spoken to them in an audible voice are "usually" lying. i have caught alot of tv evangelists saying that and i could tell that they were lying because of the things that they were saying that god said to them because god never said or "worked" the way that he (the tv preacher) said that god was going to do. people are gullible and some of these guys on tv prey on that. it sounds so spiritual to say that god actually spoke to someone. that more than anything will get someones attention. but here is the key - if it did not line up with what the bible has to say about the subject that they might have been talking about, then they were lying. for example: the big thing on "christian tv" ( i use that term tongue - in - cheek) is the health/wealth/prosperity teaching. they teach that if you are a child of god (a christian) it is your "devine right" to be healthy/wealthy/prosperous. that is not only a lie, it is an incredible mis-representation of god. god does not guarantee any of that if you follow him. when these guys say that it builds false hope and when god doesn't "perform", the people that were told that get mad at god. some of these "boneheads" will say that god actually "spoke" to them and told them to tell the people this, thus and so. baloney. rock is right, god still can speak audibly to any man. but if someone says that he did, you should be cautious of what they claim that god said. so no god does not speak to me directly(audibly). after you come to know god and start to cultivate a daily relationship with him, you will get to know his "voice". they way that god "speaks" to us or the way that god lets us know who he is and what he wants is a couple of different ways. one is thru prayer. prayer is "not" going to god daily with a list of things that we want him to do for us (although we should go to god every day with ALL our concerns). prayer "is" talking to god in a worshipful manner and asking him what it is that he would like us to know about him and what it is that he desires for him to do - thru us. people get this part of the relationship turned around. they make it a one-way thing. "god , what can you do for me today". there will never be any depth in a relationship like that. we must understand our place before him, it is to serve him and not for him to serve "us". so the first part is an ongoing daily conversation with god (prayer). the second is reading gods word the bible. the bible is gods actual words to man. you will find more than just "guidance" for every decision you make on every subject matter. you will hear him speak to you in your heart by his spirit agreeing with your spirit. that can only happen when someone actually "knows" god. this doesn't happen to the casual reader. to them it is at best an incredible book of history. but gods word comes "alive" as you spend time with him in his word. sometimes when you are reading it is as if god is actually using the words that you are reading to speak to you. the words you are reading fit right in with whatever it is that you might be going thru at any given time. the bible was written by man. it contains 66 books by 40 different authors over a span of 1600 years ( i think that it was around 1600yrs, but it was along time). some people excuse the bible as not being gods word just because it was written by man, but that is not the case here. the bible was written by each author as there were "inspired" by the holy spirit. we know that it is true that they were actually "inspired" and that the bible is gods word because ALL 40 authors and ALL 66 books are in total harmony , agreemant, purpose and plan throughout the time over which it was written without any "break" in continuity. that is impossible considering the time frame (1600 years) and the fact that we are dealing with different kinds of men from all walks of life with varying degree's of education/intelligence/bacground,etc. it is impossible to keep the message of god un-tainted for that long with that many men involved. it is true however over the course of many centuries that men have messed with the different translations of the bible from the original text. translating from the original language into a different language can be difficult at times. some translaters have goofed up the translation when they tried to make it more "reader" friendly. there are some translations that are better than others to be sure. but make no mistake, just because a word here or there incorrectly translated does not mean that it is not gods word - it is. even though some translations are better than others, god has made sure that his message has never been "watered down" or lost !!! god has never been or will ever be dependant on man to do his will. god will accomplish what he desires to do and no one will be able to foil that plan. that is another reason that you can trust the bible, god has not let man "lose" his message. the people that write off the bible as gods word have never read it themselves. they make up lame excuses. they realize that if they read it themselves and it is true, then they will have to subject thier lives to it and they don't want to do that.
mostly my ability to "hear" gods voice and know what he wants from my life is because i have come to him on his terms and not my own. then i make it my daily priority to get to know him thru prayer and his word. it is the most amazing thing in life to realize that god is real and that he loves you and that he has a plan specically for you. when you begin to cultivate a relationship with god you will be amazed on how he lets you know what he wants from you. it is unique with each person. god will arrange the circumstances in your life so that you will have a decision to make, was that god or just coincedence? after the first time you might write it off as "coincedence", but not after the 2nd and 3rd and 4th time and so on. you will realize that it is god and that only god could have orchestrated those circumstances. a relationship with god is no different than any other relationship. the more time , effort and priority you put into it, the more you will get out of it. the best thing that i can tell you out of all the things that i have said to you is that you can know him for yourself. you dont have to take my word for anything, you can go to him yourself right now and ask him your self. but god will not allow himself to be played, you must come to him on his terms. his terms are thru christ. you believe by "faith" that christ died for your sins PERSONALLY. and that apart from christ you can never do enough to make yourself right with god. which is why christ had to die for us, we could never fully keep our end of the bargain. somewhere along the line we will screw that up (that is what sin is)we all do. coming to god by "faith" just means that you are trusting his (gods) judgement on the matter even though you don't fully understand. it is a "leap of faith" to come to god as he has asked us to, then if we have played by his rules it is up to him to "show" himself to us. but we have to be ready to serve him otherwise he will not show himself. hope that answers your questions, let me know if there is more........visiondude"i am .........."meant to"

Hey Visiondude, The Rock is fine and hope that you are to. He is just trying his best to serve God and to do his will and be obedient to what he wants him to do because The Rock says that he knows best. You know Visiondude each and everyday The Rock is more and more positive that we are in the last days and the rapture is very, very close. The Rock is keeping a watch out everyday and waiting for that glorious moment for when he will be one of those will never experience death and within a twinkle of an eye will be transform into his spiritual body to spend eternity with God and to rule and serve Jesus when he sets up his Kingdom on earth. You know Visiondude the so called treasures here on earth seems like peanuts compared to the real treasures up above. The Rock just gets so excited when he thinks about what is waiting for him up there. Lets take a look, down here you have crime, disease, corruption, mortality, crying, fears, sorrowsnad earthly treasures like money, and materials things which are temporary. Now up above you have joy, happiness, peace everywhere, incorruption, immortality, eternal life which never ends, no sickness, no crime, no disease, no sorrows, no fears, no heartaches, immortality, treasures which are eternal and last forever and The Rock can go on and on. The Rock just gets so excited and am glad that he has accepted Jesus Christ as lord and savior and wants to serve hm more and more each day. No more taxes, no more elections with pregnant chads(lol) and no so called nation being determined by a peace of land and a peace of cloth with bombs and missiles and armies to kill each other and threats of war just Christ Kingdom which he will rule for ever and his armies and angels shield with righteousness. The Rock cannot wait Visiondude. The Rock does not envy those who do not believe and those who have rejected him for woe unto them. The Rock cannot imagine eternity burning in hell with fires at degrees unheard of with rodents eating at you and with the smell of rotten eggs all around. Visiondude this is the destiny of many unfortunately. The Rock says to whomever that you can have all of your earthly treasures just give him Jesus and his heavenly treasures. You know Visiondude The Rock tries his best everyday because he wants to be rewarded handsomely for being a good and faithful servant. Visiondude The Rock says that people just do not know, he sees people everyday walking in darkness and living in sin and chasing the earthly riches and just do not know what is waiting for them for living like that and not choosing God and you cannot tell them anything. The Rock does not envy them. They will think twice when they are burning in an eternal hell which has know end and therefore there suffering and torture will have no end.

I have always believed in Jesus and God etc. I used to pray every night, thanking Jesus/God for a good day and hoping tomorrow would be a good day too. I prayed for myself and my family to be protected from those who want to harm me or them etc. But, one day, I guess I got mad. The Big Game was really high, my family could have been rich by now, you see back in the 80's my Dad and my dad's sister and husband were fighting over a couple hundred thousand plus tons of stock that my "uncle" left when he died. He wasn't really my uncle, but I considered him to be. My parents took care of him when he was old and sick. He already made out his will, and he was going to give the money to my real uncle and my aunt (my dad's sister and brother in-law). My "uncle" guess didn't really like my real uncle, my dad said that my real uncle wanted the money, and wanted him to die I think or something like that. So, my non-real "uncle" told my parents that he wanted to give the money to them and for me and my sister for our future/college. So, my "uncle" died, and my dad sued my aunt & uncle, etc etc. and we lost. And plus, a few years back we had some people skipping out on paying rent and other not so good times....So, anyways, I believed that my family were going to get a "break", that maybe God planned this or he saw what happened and that justice would be served. So, I prayed and cried and pleaded to God, Jesus etc. to win the Big Game. But, no we didn't win, and so I got mad, I felt left out and abanoned. So, I stopped praying, later on, I realized that I made a mistake, and that God is not a "toy", I shouldn't make demands. But, I still believe that we will eventually catch a "break". Now, I personally am in a bad situation, no school or work and no friends etc. But, I probably somehow find a job, and fix up the school situation, but I need money. I don't know what to do, I am thinking of going to the military to get some money and get some respect and toughen me up. But, I'm lost. I'll post some more stuff, after you V-Dude reply.

charlie, you may not understand this now but you are in a really good place. sometimes it takes getting to the end of "us" before we can see how much we really can't live without god. not if we want the true joy that only a relationship with god can provide. and there is NOTHING in this life that you/i could experience that would give us the lasting peace and joy that god gives us when we put him first. that joy can be experienced even during the most difficult of circumstances that life (god) can throw our way. remember what i told you about my life? i have very difficult circumstances to deal with, especially with my health. health problems are the worst. usually you can fix $$$$ problems one way or another but if you have health problems that you cannot fix and god has decided (at least for now) not to make me healthy, that is the hardest road to travel in life. if you knew me personally then you would see that i am one of the most happiest , joyful , encouraging persons that you would ever meet. i am not "tooting my own horn", i am saying because i know god and his plan for my life (which for awhile now has included health/financial issue's) that i have incredible joy despite what "goes on around me". knowing god and knowing how he feels about you gives us incredible inner strength. the only way that you will ever address the self esteem issue once and for all is when you realize that god not only accepts you right were you are, but loves you. nothing in life can give you that measure of inner strength. and if you possess that kind of inner strength, nothing that can ever come your way that can steal that away from you ever again. i am happy for you that you realize that god was not the one that disapointed you. you made "demands" on god that did not fit into his will for your life. in my last post i made reference to this. when people try to come to god they make up there own rules or list of demands. god does not and cannot bow to our demands. it must be relized that if we truly want to know god then we have to come to him on his terms. we are to serve him, he does not "serve us". but when god doesn't do what we demand, we split. god will test us to see what our motivation is for serving him. do we only serve him when he is blessing us ? or are we committed to him no matter what "valley" he takes us thru. that is why the people who "stay the course" no matter what, are the ones that god will show his favor to. the favor of god is in-comparible joy. for some people god has designed a lifetime of hardship, for others it is only for a season. but the answer is always the same, are you going to serve him no matter what? many enter the "race" but few ever finish. now is the best time of your life to start trusting god for all that currently concerns you. you have legitimate needs that god wants to fill for you, but you have to be willing to go to him and trust him. he will tell you how to do your part but in order for you to have success , you must be willing to do what ever god tells you to do. that is key to hearing from god, you must be always willing to adjust your life to his will when he reveals it to you. if you are un-willing to adjust when the answer comes then you will re-vert back to doing what you "feel" is right and you cannot ever have success doing it your way when god knows better. doing things god's way is a much more efficient way of living. he can save us alot of heartache if we do it his way. you seem to me to be a person who is well on his way to finding yourself, as opposed to the "lost" person you were. when you let god interject his love and influence in your life you will feel the opposite of "lost", you will feel INVINCEABLE. you are not the only one who has felt bad after not winning the big game. they are many needy people in this world. but $$$$ can never fix our true underlying problems. we all need a relationship with god. god is not going to give us $$$$ when what we really need is him. money buys "things" and pays bills, it does not fill the void in our lives that only god can fill. people are looking for a temporary "fix". god has NEVER let you down!! it is just at the time you did not understand how he works. if you get on the same "page" that god is on in your life and you will understand how much he really loves you. that is easy to do, but you must play by his rules first. i have difficult cicumstances to be sure, but i am an incredibly "wealthy" man in the things of life that really count. i have incredible peace , joy , hope for my future and direction on where my life is going all the way until i die. where else are you going to find that apart from a relationship with god - you cannot !!!. people will ALWAYS in some respect or another disappoint or downright fail you - GOD "NEVER" WILL. but in order for you to feel that, you must develope a right relationship with him so that you can understand why he does what he does. keep writing me, you are going in the right direction charlie. did you get my personal e-mail address ? let me know.......visiondude

Hello Visiondude, sometimes I have a hard time understanding
the King James Version of the Bible. There are so many
translations that I do not know which one to buy at the
bookstore. Which one do you recommend? I was brought up
that the KJV was the 'only one' I should read. Which
one would be second? I want to understand it better....

therock needs mental help. He is too "freaky"! Talking about rapture etc. Just a few weeks ago he was talking about winning the lottery. And now since this Visiondude character came in, therock has been brainwashed. therock, you will not be saved in the "rapture". It isn't really likely, only old people who go to church 3 times a day shall be saved. You you people scare me.

sam ,the rock is the same guy he was "before" , he is just expressing what he believes. if you don't believe what he is saying is true , that is your right. just live out your life and time will tell who is right and who is wrong. if you don't feel threatened by what they rock said then don't worry about it, just live as if it's not true and no big deal. i never try and "convert" people, that is between god and them. when people are searching after god and are asking me questions i will give them answers. but what they do with the info after i give them is up to them. so don't worry and just relax. but , god does say that if you "want to know him" (saved) it is thru christ alone. that means anyone regardless of age , race, financial or moral background. jesus said "anyone who comes to me i will in no wise cast out". ..............visiondude

first of all thank's for writing me !!!! when i first became a christian i too was reading the kjv version so i can understand your frustration at times. the kjv is to this day touted as being the "closest" to the original translation, but at times can be difficult to read. i currently am reading the new international version. it is much easier to read and is very accurate in it's translation. i also do alot of my reading of the bible on the internet at : (www.bible.gospelcom.net) they have the bible in all the major translations so that you can compare what each one is saying, it is a really cool feature that helps when you/me are having some difficulty in "getting" what is actually being said. i have to dispel one "myth", the kjv is not the one and only version that god accepts or endorses. that statement has been around for a long time. it cracks me up when i hear people praying and they are praying in "king james". as if god only hears the king james language or is only impressed when we speak "king jamesish". god sees the attitude of our heart and not our words. the same goes with the different "versions".god doesn't care about what "language" that is being used, he only cares about the accuracy of the message. the kjv is only a "language", it is not the ONLY language. god himself doesn't speak king james, he speaks right to our hearts and that "transends" EVERY language. as far as understanding gods word , i would encourage you to just relax and take any un-due pressure off of yourself. what i mean is this , god does not expect you to understand anything unless he wants you to. what you are supposed to understand as it pertains to whatever god is doing in your life at that time, he will give you the wisdom to understand it. that helps with pressure that we sometimes put on ourselves to "know" god and his plan. what god intends for us to know, he will tell us. so just relax and do your best to move toward god every day (including reading your bible) and what god wants from you he will tell you. just be ready when he tells you. you/i are not responsible for what god has "not" told us. we are however responsible for what "he has" told us. sounds like you are on the right track, keep it up !!........visiondude

I had to register since Todd shut down the "guest feature". It's pretty sad, that we have to post way back here. But, for now this little page is our "section", until Todd finds out and probably deletes it.....Alright, Visiondude, I am ready. What to I have to do? Do I have to light candles or pray a certain prayer? What is it exactly that I have to say and do? And what do I expect from God/Jesus and what do they expect from me? Can I still do the normal things I do (even though some of the thing I do may be "morally" wrong in some way)? And will my life change for the better? Include anything else that you feel that I need to know. Peace out!

the first thing you need to do is send me money !!!! (i am totally kidding) that answers one of your questions because after you give your life to god you can certainly retain your sense of humor. yes you will change. the change will come over time and at the rate that god desires. the biggest "change" that will take place is that your life (heart) will be filled with peace, hope and inner strength. it will be more of an in-ward change. how your life circumstances will change is up to god. it is not true to say that all your "problems" that you face will disappear, that depends on how god wants to use your current circumstances to bring you closer to him. he does that sometimes by taking away our difficulties, sometimes by leaving them in play. but you will have a inner peace that you have never had before. the kind that you could not find in any other arena in life. has todd been deleting some of your messages? when you come to god it is important to realize that you must "come as you are". you do not have to clean up your "act". god will do that for you and he will do it from the inside out. god has made you a unique person charlie, there is no one that god has ever made that is like you. with that in mind, he is not about to change your personality. he has made you a certain way for a specific reason. he does not intend on stripping you of your humanity. you will never be in a place where you can't do anything that you want to do (he has created you/i with a free-will). he will never violate your free-will. you will never become a robot. he will show his love to you and you will respond to it. if there is anything in your life that is not pleasing to him, he will let you know. and when he lets you know it will be in a way that you will want to change because of the love he has shown you. people get this stuff backwards by saying you have to be a "good little christian" and do this our that (set of rules), just be yourself and let god do his "thing" with you. while your'e new focus will be to live a life that is pleasing to god, he will reveal what he wants from you as you go along. people will try and put things and attitudes on you that god never intended. this is not a "lifestyle" that you are going to live , it is a RELATIONSHIP that you and god will develope over the rest of your life. god does not hold back on his end when it comes to a relationship with us. but in order to go "deep" with god, you must make him your priority, you must make an honest effort everyday to move closer to god. the more effort you make, the closer that you will become to god. what exactly you need to do to become right with god and start this new relationship with him is not some big long drawn out religious- penance thing. you only need to admit (by faith) that you are a sinner. every person that has lived or will live has or will sin. all "sin" is that we admit to a perfect god that we are im-perfect. it doesn't mean that you have murdered anyone or anything like that, it just means that you admit to god that you are not perfect (sin) before him. the next step is that you (by faith) accept the sacrifice for your personal sin that god has made on our behalf. that sacrifice was jesus dying on the cross FOR YOU. "by faith" means that you are trusting gods judgement on this matter even though you may not fully understand it now. god expects from you that you "mean it". that you are serious about knowing him and that you are ready to start serving him when he proves himself to you, that is your end of the bargain. if you are not willing right now to hold up your end then you should wait until you are because if you are not willing to hold up your end, god will not "show up". remember what you said to me in a previous post, that you realized that you had made demands on god and he didn't answer you? this situation is especially that way. if you are serious (god will know because he will "see" what is in your heart at the time that you ask him) then god will keep his end of the bargain - he will show himself to you once and for all. when he does, you will never be able to deny that it is him. it is not really some special prayer or words that a person must use, it is really just saying yes to god in your heart about the above things i have told you that make you right with god. so in your own way between you and god, anywhere and at anytime you simply say to god that you need him and that you accept the fact that christ has died for your sins personally and that you are ready to serve him. when you are ready it doesn't matter where you are or whether you say it aloud or quietly to your self, it is between you and god. it is that simple , nothing more and nothing less. this suggesstion is not going to make you any more right with god but it will open up another avenue for god to "speak" to you. get ahold of a bible and start by reading the book of john in the new testament. start at the first chapter and read all thru john. don't worry about what you don't understand as you begin to read, god will help you to understand what he wants you to understand. you will see god "jump off the pages" as the very words of god come alive toward you. it is an exciting new part of our new relationship with him. again, i must caution you, god may not change your circumstances immediately. if this is what you are looking for then you might be disappointed. he will change your heart and the first order of "business" is exchanging that lost-hopeless feeling you have about your life to one of great inner strength and peace. he wants us to trust that it is he and not us that is going to work our lives out. sometimes our "difficulties" will play into his plan. remember my life story? the difficulties that i have faced were designed by god to make me into the man that i am today. i would not have become the man that i am any other way. i would not have been able to effectivly give to others , what god has given to me.
recap:
1) admit that you need god
2) admit that you need gods provision for your sin (christ), and that there is nothing apart from christ that you could do to "EVER" make "yourself" right with god.
3)tell god (and only when you mean it) that you are ready to serve him as he reveals himself to you
4)if you have done the above, you are now right with god FOREVER. you have eternal life as well as a relationship with god now. the issue of your salvation will be closed for discussion because after you accept christ you are right with him forever. there is no more tug-o-war on this issue- IT IS A "DONE DEAL".
that's all there is. aren't you glad that you don't have to live out your life trying to be a "good little boy" ? you are going to know (if you mean it) that you are right with god NOW. you will not have to wait till you die and stand before god to find out whether i was right or not - you will find out now. charlie , it has been an absolute honor to share the love that god has for you and see you respond, alot of people don't. you are highly fortunate!!! god will bless you. let me know if i can help more. it is up to you but as far as i am concerned i am in it with you for the long haul. ............visiondude"i am .........."meant to"

I am close to giving up my life to God. But, do I have to give up my whole life? Also, I am very afraid of God, I love him, but he is so intimating. I don't want to be "freaked out". I don't want him to talk to me or do things that will make me afraid. Also, my friend asks me a question, he wants to know what happens to the people who sell their soul to Satan. Do those people have no soul, or when they die their soul goes straight to Hell? Is there anyway for forgiveness or to get a new one or get your soul back? And can you sell your soul to a person like a friend? I am worried about my friend, he is desperate! And I sort of am too, but I would never sell my soul.
