Well CASH will be happy to read this. If you read the article about ND's lottery starting the 1st Quarter of 2004, there is a link to the  ND state website that has the proposed rules for the lottery.

Within that document are the rules for Powerball, Hot Lotto, and Wild Card 2 (another MUSL game). Since ND can ONLY sell multi-state lottery games, it's no big surprise that they will be joining 3 of the 4 MUSL games.

So unless DC joins soon or some other MUSL state, it looks like ND will be the 7th Hot Lotto state.

If it's correct, it proves that Hot Lotto isn't about to be retired (despite ND's small population, and all three US neighbors offer it.)

Well, I wouldn't be "predicting" Hot Lotto numbers if HL was available closer to me.

                Cash,

Did you see that I added Hot Lotto to the Quick Picks Generator?

No, Todd; I almost never buy QPs. But I'm happy you did (of course, there are a number of 5/39 games without the "bonus ball.")

Tennessee is planning to begin its lottery by February. I'm hoping they'll join MUSL so Hot Lotto can be played in the South.

Actually they're targeting the end of March to start.

                      Todd:

One of yesterday's articles said Feburary. I suppose March is more realistic, however.

                        Posted this morning on BigGameLottery.com:

Lottery Corporation board holds first meeting

Bredesen gave the board a four-point charge to open the meeting: - Have the lottery in place by the end of next March; - Set up infrastructure for the long term; - Help him try to re-establish public confidence in the state's ability to do things; - Use the lottery to expand opportunities to small and minority-owned businesses.

smd173 thinks TN will offer Mega Millions because it wants to have a partnership with Georgia.

If I had four numbers in Hot Lotto, I would win "only" $50, compared to the $150 (twice) in Mega Millions. But of course HL is a smaller game...
