I'm thinking of going after the PA cash 5... I already have data from 1992 thru now, just wondering if the matrix has always been 5/39 or if it has ever been different... and if so, when did it become 5/39?

I like the odds better than the 6/69 matrix of "super" 6, and I live about 40 miles from a guy in PA who hit the cash 5 at least 4 times already...

apparently it has been 5/39 since it's start on 4/23/1992

so far, there have been 2,722 drawings

Ohio Buckeye5 has been 5/37 since it started back in '93 and it has had more than 2350 drawings and 5 of the combinations have been drawn twice.  With those 5 repeat combinations and some combinations of 4's repeating very often, I tried to figure if some combinations were favored over others, but no luck.  When I play 8 combinations that include all 37 numbers which have not matched 3 in recent history, I usually match 2 for $1 and sometime 3 for $10.  Seldom match 4 and never have matched 5.  Only play Buckeye5 when all the other jackpot are low for a change of pace.

There's little doubt Cash 5 outsells Stupid-6. I wonder if Cash 5 ever does better PER DRAWING (3.5x Stupid-6)?

I wonder how best to choose placement of numbers for a single full wheel?

Meaning all the numbers are played once... 8 lines

for (a bad but illustrative) example:

          Ticket 1: 01-02-03-04-05
          Ticket 2: 06-07-08-09-10
          Ticket 3: 11-12-13-14-15
          Ticket 4: 16-17-18-19-20
          Ticket 5: 21-22-23-24-25
          Ticket 6: 26-27-28-29-30
          Ticket 7: 31-32-33-34-35
          Ticket 8: 36-37-38-39-ANY

Any suggestions? My first inclination would be to play the most frequently drawn number in each position for line 1, and work from there...

(p.s. The Cash 5 rolled ver to $200,000 for tonight, I tried it for $8, but only applied any serious thought to line 1... hopefully luck picks up where skill leaves off...)

I doubt I'd play that strategy long term (it's just that rollovers are a rarity) for real, but it would be fun to fine tune a wheel like that on paper and check it against past history (who knows, if it can be tweaked enough.... The powerball's 53#s could be repeated almost 4x in 42 lines while catching the powerball for sure...)

              results... 22-23-26-30-33

of 8 lines, 2 matched for $1 each... not too bad considering the 5 could have ended up on separate lines, but not enough to recoup the $8...

When you buy your tickets, do you ever get in any conversations about Stupid-6?

Probably not right now, unless it's about the recent winner from near Pittsburgh.
