How about reverse engineering?

The key may be in the past draw history...

perhaps something labor-intensive like developing a list of observed "truisms" for each number in each position... or having the stats at hand and trying to decode the differences.... find out what indicators may have been available (hindsight is always 20/20)... only trying it back in history, not for the draw where you have no results yet...

there would be many variables to consider in a multi-dimensional approach to the reverse engineering of each draw and the numbers it ultimately produced at a specific moment in time. since we are dealing with mechanical machines and 53 or 42 celluloid or rubber balls in each...we might be dealing with such variables as estimated humidity in iowa within the studio (the drawing site) at the moment of the draw date. what can affect the tides would certainly be suspect as affecting the statistical outcome of celluloid spheres in a lottery draw. it would take an enormous amount of time and effort just to list all of the variables that would have to be entered into the scheme. we might also have to consider other environmental factors relating to the conditions at the moment red ball number 36 was drawn...or white ball number 20. estimated studio temperature depending on heating (winter draws) or air-conditioning (summer draws). all possible factors would have to be considered to increase the accuracy of a prediction formula. once the formula is designed and tested ...hundreds of subtle variables could be added or deleted one by one so the entire process would not need to be completed before use. then there are the other unknowns to us that would have to be considered and dealt with statistically in the prediction scenario. we don't know which of the four sets of drawing balls that they have placed into each machine at the time of the draw. the old musl site used to have a paragraph describing the rotation of ball sets in the machines. thus, even if we devise and implement a complex multi-dimensional formula through comprehensive reverse engineering that can predict ball 36 dropping out of the second draw machine with a certain percentage of accuracy at a given moment in time, we would still have to consider an approach addressing the possible variables that human intervention would add to each specific draw. it would be a complicated endeavor to say the least.

do you think given identical situations and running the balls through in the same set and pulling them out at the same indentical time,,,given that all situations and dvents are equal from the first & second draw....would the second draw have the same numbers as the first draw? that is a question that has bugged me for awhile now...has it ever been done?

here's an obsevation that may or may not be of use in drawing #139 (2/4/2004)

in 138 drawings, the 3 has been drawn in the FIRST position (sort order) 4 times.

3 of those times, it was followed by the number 6 in the next draw...

do we have a possible good bet with a 6 as the position 1 number?
