little tip; I transposed the last # from each set and picked up 2 more boxed hits. You might want to try this for the other states also.

Thanks for the detailed instructions! Now this is not hype, but something to chew on.

I'll bite. I'll do it for NY and see what happens and let everyone here know.

Thanks again.

OK, I took up the challenge. In my own manner. I went a bit overboard and instead took the last 20 -- not the requested 18 -- draws from the month of January. I treat Midday and Evening as sequential draws, not separating them out. I compared the result from the "algorithm" to the actual draws in NY State in February to date.

Well, see for yourself!

The 20 draws:

963

606

901

793

482

0 = 7

1 = 4

2 = 7

3 = 10

4 = 8

5 = 4

6 = 5

7 = 4

8 = 6

9 = 5

Then:

3 = 10

4 = 8

0 = 7

2 = 7

8 = 6

9 = 5

6 = 5

1 = 4

5 = 4

7 = 4

Next:

Next:

Then:

820

203

243

Then:

882

Repetition of above steps on next five:

TOTAL NUMBERS TO PLAY: 28 whole and 6 pairs

TOTAL HITS: 9 whole with 3 as straight, 7 pairs

SAMPLE EXPENSE:

TOTAL EXPENSE OF ALL WHOLE NUMBERS AS STRAIGHT ONLY: \$504

(that's \$28/day -- midday and evening at fifty cents each)

TOTAL WINS OF ALL WHOLE NUMBERS AS STRAIGHT ONLY: \$750

(three straight hits at \$250 payouts)

I did not do a total expense with the pairs because these can be played any which way.

I have to say that these results surprised me. I came in, of course, doubtful.

I think something is going on here, but I'm not sure of what. This is certainly better than I have done during this period! \$28/day is just too much to lay out, however, so there must be a way to trim that to an affordable level.

But right now it is late and I am weary so I will let everyone else chime in.

Hey, try this with your state and report the results!

(PS: I might have gotten my wheeling wrong. I've never done wheeling and am not sure if I did it right or even completely.)

Millennium

I have not tried this business, but now I am curious.

But as to cutting down the selections, maybe with filters?

Like, here on Tx most of the numbers coming out have at least one number from the last two draws, and as you know, doubles don't come as often as singles, so many people don't play them, and You can cut down numbers whose sum are way too low or way too high and also numbers that are all even and all odd and numbers whose lowest number is zero and highest is nine such as 609 and 950 and also numbers whose lowest to highest numbers are off by just two, such as 678, 123, 576, 543 and numbers that have come out two or more times in the same digit order (485, 485) on the last 200 or more draws, and choose numbers that have a different odd and even sequence than number from the last draw, but most of these filters and others only work or work best if You separate day from night and don't mix them, otherwise some of this filters don't work and there are of course other filters that I didn't mention.

Good luck and let everybody know how you do.

Bye.

I tried this very quickly on paper using last months combined draws and the results were 4 boxes: 541, 041, 084, 054. I didn't see anything else. None of the doubles came out.

Good Luck to All

Thanks for the filter suggestion and for the test results of Texas.

If I can make some time, I'll try December's last 18 against the actual results of January and see what I get.

I can see the "How" of the system, Still figuring out the "Why" and how to implement it into excel for long-term backtesting... maybe RANK() by position and then read each as a combo and run it against the Straight/Boxed hit check formula? Getting it into excel will make it easier to test each position for optimal draw history and get instant feedback on the overall performance.

I won't be combining mid-day and evening as PA selects numbers differently for each (Computer for MID and Machines/balls for EVE).

Playing more than one ticket per game is betting against yourself.

I'd factor out the midday in your state too.

I don't use Excel, so I'm no help.

As for the "why" of this working -- man, the Pick 3 has been so screwy in NY lately, I wouldn't be surprised if a bizarre algorithm such as this one is a contributing factor.

I wish I knew a programming language. I'd work this up formally and automate the testing. Especially the wheeling business. I still don't know if I did it right.

update for Mass. Another box hit tonight  for me even though it came out as a straight hit. It was 928.That makes 4 boxed and 1 straight so far for Feb. Really on a roll. I do not play any doubles or pairs. This cuts it down considerably for investing purposes. Looking better each day. Thanks If someone can put an excel spreadsheet for use it would be great.

How much did you have to put down per day to win? Are you ahead or in the hole?

For the California Midday Results so far there has been 1 Straight and 2 Boxed hits.

I didn't combine the Midday & Evening results. After reading hypersoniq post I was curious if the California Lottery uses one or two machines on there website it states they have 2 machines, but they do a draw on what machine they will use before drawing the actual numbers, so now I'm not sure if I want to combine the evening and day results?
