How about those of us who want to "just-be-alone" when we win the big one! Now, I am not talking about $1 million or $ 5 million dollars -- but the big jackpots: save $50 million or more.
The newspapers, television, and the radio just cannot get enough of blasting your name and your town (depending upon where you live) to the public. Actually, do those big winners REQUEST TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS? Or, do the lottery officials exclaim: "we really don't give a damn, it's the general public's right to know!"
Listen up! If your name and town is announced to the world (so to speak), where do you run and hide? If you are trying to avoid old friends, greedy family members, or beggars (would you be willing to donate...), where do you find refuge? Remember, the West Virginia guy who won a big jackpot and got his money stolen from him? Why did he not get the hell out of dodge? His daughter lost friends because her friends thought since she was rich, she should always pay for everything. With friends like that...who needs them.
Finally, when you hit the jackpot, my friends, and you report to lottery headquarters to validate your winnings, please tell them: "I want to be left alone!"
