Came across this in the Pa. Bulletin last week.

Apparently our good Commonwealth is starting a new draw game.  Rules were spelled out, understood most of it.  Only thing I don't know is when it will start.  Article said "at the descretion of the Secretary of Revenue"

Anyone know anything else?

Here's what I know;

  • $2 per play

  • pick 6  of 38 numbers

  • single line per play

  • one in 20 tickets is an automatic winner of $10

  • top prize of $3,000 per week for life.  Minimum of $1,000,800.

  • mtch 3 -win $3; 4 wins $40, 5 wins $2,000 6, is top prize

I figure odds are about 1 in 11.

Rumor has it that it wil replace Match 6.

how many drawings per week are there gonna be, and will it replace any current game?

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

it looks lke there will be at least 2 drawings per week (i'm guessing monday and thursdsay to keep from competing with powerball or match 6), and it doesn't look like it will replace any game.

          1.  they wouldn't replace a jackpot game, especially one that isn't even a year old.  they may revamp it.  i think they might want to see how well it works first, and how big the jackpots can get.

          2.  it could be a while (1-2 years) before we even hear about this game from the PA lottery.

            another $2 ticket... another flop...

Playing more than one ticket per game is betting against yourself.

i'm guessing that there may be a cash option as well because that seems to bring in players.  i think for $2 a pop, they really should have increased the jackpot to maybe $5,000 a month for life.  $3,000 a month for life is less than $1,000 a week for life.  it even mentioned that it will take 28 years for that guarenteed million and some to be paid to a winner.  with the win for life scratch game, it only takes 20 years for that to be paid out.  $36,000 a year for life isn't that much anyway.  it's barely above the poverty level, so if one were to win that prize, they would need to keep working.

if you played 2 sets of the same numbers, and they hit, then it would pay off, but i'm guessing it would become pari-mutuel if there were multiple winners.

I do not believe there is any cash option for matching 6 of 6.

All prizes are fixed, so there is no pari-mutuel prize awards, and no shared jackpots.

If two people get 6 of 6, they both get $3,000 per month for life.  Remember, this is not a rolling jackpot game.

according to the PA bulletin, if more than 5 tickets win the top prize, it becomes pari-mutuel.

Well, I guess it MAY be pari-mutuel if 5 or more players hit the top prize, but I was responding to your statement that just said if multiple players hit (you didn't mention a number).  My statement about 2 players both getting $3,000 per month was correct.

The following is a quote from the bulletin.  Note the discretionary portion.

If more than five winning first prize (jackpot) plays are determined in the same drawing, each ... is entitled to a share of annual payments totaling $180,000. Each share is limited to annual payments for the lifetime of the winner equal to $180,000 divided by the actual number of jackpot prize winners. In these cases, the minimum lifetime amount is determined to be 28 annual payments each in the amount as determined above.... This conditional pari-mutuel top prize payout may be changed at the discretion of the Secretary and the change will be announced by public notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin. The change will only apply prospectively to Lucky for Life Lotto drawings as of the date specified in the public notice.

Its a 6/38 lottery.Compared to other 6/49 lottery games, the chance of winning a 6 of 6 is lower indeed.Besides,a 5 of 6 will pay $2,000 and its what other 6/49 games will do too.

The top prize WON'T have a cash option. The $2 price won't help either. I have no intention of driving to PA to play it.
