Sun 11/20 lumber today

Started about 11 am and finished around 5 pm.

Got all the panel boards finish planed to 1/2". Will finish planing the 13/16" lumber down to 3/4" finish after thanksgiving. Next step will be resawing and planing the edges to be same size on the board for width.

Had to clean the feed rollers on the planer quite a few times as the lumber still has a high pitch content in some of them yet after 200 years. Had to discard about 7 boards 3" x 16" as the pitch content was so concentrated in them. The lumber being used is antigue pine which is from a type of tree they get turpentine from.

Going to go work on my cash 5 for tomorrows draw. Have one set of filterd wheel which I have been playing for about the last 4 draws. Have ten lines in that one and will do another wheel with 10 lines.

May expand my cash 5 tracking to have the other positions connected. Have tracking now having 1&2, 2&3 ,3&4 & 4&5. Want to expand to 1&3, 1&4, 1&5, 2&4, 2&5, 3&5

This will give me the option to look for odd & even stuff.
May do some of them sometime this week.

Sat 11/19 lumber or not

 

Did not plane any lumber today.

Helped a neighbor run some 1 pc crown mould in a bedroom this a m. Run about 48 l/ft in about an 1 1/2.

Did not do much until 2:30 when I loaded the truck with the shavings and some scrap wood and took to recycling center as they call it now.  Use to call it the dump but they want the stuff sorted now. Got me a nice office chair while I was there that only had a small tear in the backrest. Use that for my smoke room instead of a hard stool.

Someone can furnish a house with a lot of the stuff they throw away in landfills. Had a buddy one time who was retired and use to salvage scrap metal and any antiques he could find. Done it to have something to do.

I have seen old bath wall cabinets sold for good money that we use to throw away for junk. Can not remember how many old claw foot tubs I have seen in the dump or taken to the scrap yard. Can have them redone if chipped and sell for over 500.00 these days. Have seen them used for watering throughs on farms too.

planed more lumber Sun 11/13


Before I went ahead and planed more panel boards to 7/16" I checked my biscuit cutter with the ones I had. HMMMM says I. I better make these boards for a finish thickness of 1/2". 3/8" finish is not thick enough says I.
I will use what little I have of 3/8" for the drawer lumber.
Planed out more of the stuff to finish 3/4" for the tops also.
Planed out the six legs to 1 1/4" square. Going to use four legs on the front of desk as I will have an opening for the my legs to fit in. The back I will have one leg in each corner with a continuous board the length of the table about 6" up on the legs. Will have a taper on the legs about 6" high. About a 1/4" taper. Will look for round metal adjusters to fit in the bottom of the legs.
still have more planing to do yet.
That large pile of 3 x 4 s has dwindled down quite a bit. A bit of wastage from cull lumber, [junk]
Planing takes out a lot of lumber by the time I plane it to size.
Have one trash can full and one 15 gallon leaf bag full of shavings already.
The lumber is looking good for the project.

Planed lumber today Sat 11/12

Planed out most of the lumber for tops down to about 13/16". did not set planer for each board to size. Will go one more run thru on all the boards at the same time with planer set at 3/4".
I will have my table top and a top shelf that will rest on the top cabinets about 14" wide

Planed some of the panel boards down to 7/16" and will do a final cut down to 3/8" when I have all of them ready.

Will need to do a finish cut for width on the boards for final edging.

Still have a lot of planing to do yet.

Looks like I may have enough lumber for all of the Computer desk and top cabinets.

Will look similiar to a hoosier cabinet.

Going to make the table top about 48" long by about 28" deep.

Planing lumber this weekend

Borrowed a planer/edger from a coworker. Going to run the lumber thru to the dimension needed for the table.
Have most of it sorted as to where I want it to go.

Playin Cash 5 again tonight

Gonna go with the same 12 lines I last posted in my blog.
Had 12 lines I did one time before and it took a little bit for them to come around. Had 4 of 5 in that set about 4 times.

Gettin my tickets with one line on each ticket if I hit multiple 4 of 5 again. Cash them at the store then instead of the redemption center.
Will need to spend money for gas if I hit 5 of 5 to get to redemption center.
Was wondering if they would send a limo to get there at their expense. Hate to spend that money for gas. >LOL<

Pick 3 and 4

Still using my system I had for some time.

Caught 2 boxes with 15 numbers today. May need to search for additional straight positions after I pull the numbers I keep.

Do not much like playing box bets. If it continues to do good I may just combo a few of the numbers. If you can make a profit with box bets it would seem a profit would be there with combo bets. Need to do the math on that one.

Still using the software of tracking by sorted position.
Still using by position filters.

Still trying to figure the winning combination.
It is like trying to crack a safe when you do not know the combination. >LOL<

Quit looking for


Quit looking for tracking ideas for the 3 and 4 game.
Now using a system I have had for about 3 years but did not use much. This one is working out. Pulled a straight in the S.C. four and boxes in the S.C. three game.
Hit some straight threes in Mass and boxed some fours in Mass.
Downloaded the free updated version this past week. Have free lifetime updates on it.
Can use it all the way up to keno games and other type lotteries.

Finished sawin lumber

Got the salvaged 3x4s and whatnot finished sawn into boards.
Will still need to sort out for quantity needed. Drew up sketch this am and made a lumber list.
Need to get some supplies at store for some future work on it. Pipe clamps mainly for squeezing together the boards into panels. Already have a biscuit cutter and biscuits.
Have not decided on the glue yet. Maybe gorilla glue. Will need to check around for strongest glue available.

Sawed lumber today

I loaded up the truck with scrap and took that to the recycle place first. That made some extra room .
Setup saw and run some more thru. Still have 2 more timbers 3"x4"x6' to run thru. Will do those tomorrow.
May get out my large paper tonight and draw up plans and lumber quantity where it is to go. Pretty much have it figured in my head but need the lumber quantity specs.
Will sort lumber to see if I have enough quantity per specs.
Next will be the planing of the lumber. Will run that thru a 10" surface and edge planer.

I do have a carbide blade for the table saw.

Worked on desk lumber today

Got out today and setup saw and run a bunch more lumber thru saw into 1 inch boards.

Have about 3 more hours of sawin to do. Did not hit to many nails today. Only about a dozen. LOL. Nails were pretty deep in the board.

Doin a rift cut on the lumber for the table. A rift cut is where the lumber is cut to show the vertical grain on the board after assembly into the desk. The boards have tight growth rings. Have anywhere from 8 to 18 growth rings per inch.

The tighter grained boards will be used where it is most visble on the desk. The boards with fewer growth rings will be used for side and back panels of the desk.
