Finished filling in the walkway with topsoil, Today I seeded the walkway with Bermuda grass and watered that in for germination. That is done. If I get bored I will sit on the porch and watch the new grass sprout and grow.

Have not gotten much further on the hand rail project, The only progress made is predrilling the 1x4s for wall mounting on the studs and for mounting the brackets. Still need to predrill under the hand rail to mount the clamps that connect on the brackets. Maybe work on that tomorrow.

While I was removing the walkway and filling back in I scarfed off the hide under my right knee. I have no idea  when that happen.  I have been giving that daily medical attention since it happen. Currently no infection has developed in the healing process. Still has another week or so before it is fully healed. There will be no kneeling on that knee until fully healed.

That was something to see.  It was fast on that skateboard. Looks like it wanted to play with the cat.

Went to Harbor freight on the 5th and purchased a 3 lb hand held sledge, hand held pick axe and 3 concrete chisels that are 3 inches wide.

Went to Lowes on the 5th and purchased 8 feet of oak hand rail, 8 feet of 1x4 oak and 6 brackets.

I first cut the hand rail and 1x4 to length. One 6 foot and the remaining 2 foot. I stained those wood pieces. Still have the poly to brush on. I want the 1x4 to mount on the wall to the studding. Then mount the brackets on the 1x4 evenly spaced. Can not evenly space the brackets with the stud layout. I do not trust wall mollies to mount the brackets just on the drywall.

The past nine days a few hours each day I removed the 34 foot walkway. dug down and buried a lot of the concrete. Topped it off with the dirt I dug out. Took about 30 to 35 hours to do that. Still need about 7 cu ft of top soil. Plus I will need some grass seed. I have a haul away outfit coming tomorrow to haul away the left over concrete chunks. About 1/2 a yard.

Now I will move on to putting the poly on the hand rail and mount the hand rail on the hallway walls. 6 foot one side and 2 foot the other side on the short wall.

After that I will top off the walkway with top soil and seed it.

All of a sudden my right and left leg swelled up and started leaking like a faucet. I said to myself what the he!! is this.

My feet and legs were doing good with swelling going down until last night.

The older I get the more medical issues I have. Something that comes with old age I guess.

Deal with the medical issues and trek on.

Garage door jamb extensions done on each side. Installed brick mold on the top jamb to cover the large gap. Had left over brick mold from when I took out the front door. filled the holes and painted garage door jamb after I primed the new wood.

Installed the window glass where needed. I will let the window glaze set up for about a week and paint it then.

Moving onto the next projects. Install hand rail in hall and maybe bust up the walkway from front door directly out to street.

I was thinking of setting the busted up concrete to one side of the walkway and then dig down deeper where I took out the concrete. Then place the busted up concrete down deeper and fill back over the top two or three inches using the dirt I took out. Hosing it in real good to flow between the busted up concrete. That should solve the disposal problem.

New caulk and painting where I caulked done.

Need to replace three panes of glass 8 3/4 x 11 3/4. Two got cracked and one got busted out when I put pressure on it. I put a temporary repair on that one when it happen.  Stiff cardboard works great. Just can not see through it.  

Went to Home Depot today and purchased a tub of glazing plus two 2x4s to extend garage door jamb. 

Will go to Ace Hardware tomorrow and have the glass cut and a pack of glass points if I do not have any. 

Of all the systems I have posted in my blog the end result of coming up with what I want to play still comes down to  random selection.

I found that instinct and patience is the better system.

It does help when the lottery faerie talks to me.
