Last night we visited our local casino.  I saw a woman crying at the slot machine.  I walked over to her and asked, "Is there anything I can do for you?"  her response was, "Sure, Pay my rent!  I just spent every dime, I've got a real problem with gambling!  I've spent my whole purse trying to win, only to loose everything!"  my heart skipped a beat for her.  I told her that I couldn't pay her rent for her but maybe I could try and find her some assistance in the morning.  We exchanged phone numbers and a hand-ful of friends and I gathered what we could and blew up the phones this morning, calling local agencies trying to help her.  now i know i've not been here much lately, been very busy, but you know, i have thumbed through the pages of the Post and found a lot has happened while i've been away regarding the issue of on-line gambling.  so then i ran a search on gambling in the news in addition to what i'd read here.  and call me late, but i think i missed some major points here, i won't be able to continue my on-line gaming, because congress wants to stop me before i hurt myself, but i can go to any casino in the great US of A, but they won't stop me from hurting myself there, i can spend $2,000 more/less at the local service station and play the lottery as often as i want, and..........there is noBody, zilch, watching me to stop me there, i subscribe to an internet service from the privacy of my home that is being or about to be policed, to stop me from hurting myself? they will block me from going to where my freedom says that i can surf, makes me wanna just say, BIG BROTHER, can i bake an apple pie if i don't eat it all and hurt myself!  now i know that um liable to get a tap on the wrist, but now i don't know if it is safe to place a bet online, now um afraid to place a bet because um not sure if it's legal or not, so that means if i play, i gotta now keep it local?  one place states, it doesn't effect the lottery and the horses, another says it does, so i don't know what to think!!

that is just one word, make that two words two times!

GOVERNMENT CONTROL & BIG BROTHER!

just wonder what this activity cost the government and i've no doubt the lot of us could think of wonders to do with the money, and if any of you's are wondering, the young lady i met at the casino, has joined bets off.  to bad Congress couldn't help stop her!  yep, i will admit, um a gambler, true to form.  um addicted!  and even though i won't place a bet with the rent, i will place a bet with money i got stashed in the cookie jar.  regardless of any of that, the thing is, i feel like a grown-up being told what to do with my personal bag of scrilla! does that mean they can stop me in the future from coming to the most loved place online? "Lottery Post"

This is an email my sister sent to the Soldiers!  Because of all the prayers and support I have been given throughout this journey, I had to put it hear!  I have been laughing and crying all morning, but 'um good!

It doesn't hurt to take a hard look at yourself from time to time,
and this should help get you started...

During a visit to a mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director
what the criterion was that defined whether or not a patient should be
institutionalized.

"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub; then we offer a
teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her
to empty the bathtub."

"Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would use
the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup.
"No," said the Director, "A normal person would pull the plug. Do
you want a bed by the wall or near the window?"

This was an email sent to me by Dezmond, I pray he never looses his sense of humor!

Recently a 'Husband Super Store' opened where women could go to
choose a husband from among many men. It was laid out in five
floors, with the men increasing in positive attributes as you ascended.

The only rule was, once you opened the door to any floor, you HAD

to choose a man from that floor; if you went up a floor, you couldn't

go back down except to leave the place, never to return.

A couple of girlfriends went to the shopping centre to find some husbands...

First floor
The door had a sign saying, "These men have jobs and love kids." The
women read the sign and said, "Well, that's better than not having a job or

not loving kids, but I wonder what's further up?" So up they went.

Second floor
The sign read, "These men have high paying jobs, love kids, and are
extremely good looking." "Hmmm," said the ladies, "But, I wonder
what's further up?"

Third floor
This sign read, "These men have high paying jobs, are extremely good
looking, love kids and help with the housework."  "Wow," said the
women, "Very tempting." But there was another floor, so further up they went.

Fourth floor
This door had a sign saying "These men have high paying jobs, love
kids, are extremely good looking, help with the housework and have a
strong romantic streak." "Oh, mercy me," they cried, "Just think what
must be awaiting us further on!" So up to the fifth floor they went.

Fifth floor
The sign on that door said, "This floor is empty and exists only to
prove that women are f*cking impossible to please. The exit is to your
left, we hope you fall down the stairs."

I have been on-line all day today. I didn't win today, looked at that 638 that fell here today and didn't think twice about it. mglsr, sal and myself had it in our post, you'd have thought I would have played it.

I should have known something great was gonna happen today because my husband never once told me to get off the computer.  All he said was, "I'm gonna let you tire of that thing yourself" 

I have enjoyed myself to the fullest. My son Dezmond signed in and we were able to chat for several hours. It was so amazing that each word he typed was just as though I could hear his voice. I miss him so. He is doing well. His job is driving an ambulance and inventory control for now while in Iraq.

He has met people from all over the world. I know that he is experiencing things that I would have never even thought of. He loves poetry and did open mike quite often before he left. We even had a fund raiser to support troops family who were in the city and county near where we live.  I never knew you could miss somebody so much.  Sometime I still worry about his safety, but I realized today, that more than worry, I just miss him.  Tomorrow for Sunday Dinner, I will have 2 of his Army buddies over and I am so looking forward to it.  I get phone calls from them every other day or so checking on me.  At times I feel like I don't deserve it but I am glad that they do and they call me ma' just like Dezmond does.

All I can say, is that I am glad that I was able to stay on-line today and even though I was on a while yesterday while my husband was out, today was so much greater.  I enjoy being here sooo much and it's been great!

 

The first thing I saw today was Sandy K's,. post about the young lady in Iraq.  As I read her thread, I could feel Sandy's emotion and concern.  I paused and I prayed.  I was reminded of everyone who prayed for me and my son.  I have been able correspond to my son by email and I have heard from him at least every other day.  Though my heart is full I certainly understand the sorrows of war as I never have before, but more-over, I understand the power of prayer and the positive mind set.  It is quite moving to me even unto today that a stranger can care enough to pray. 

Father,

I pray to become more compassionate in my life and to live each passing day with consideration in praying for others as they have prayed for me.  Amen. 

It's driving me bonkers, the digit 4, where is it?  Did they take it out of the computer????  Will it come as a double 4, tripple or single?  Anything looks good to me with a 4in it....still I remember that tenaj says, numbers have no memory but it is driving me bonkers!

Looking at Sal's Stack, I like 7779-9997-7979-9499-6479 and I also like Libra Dave's 2127-2627-7127-7627. Just wondering which should I play, in Missouri's Pick 4 the hottest digits are 1,0,4 cold 5,6,9 over-due 5,0,8 so, that makes me think of 55 or 85 as a pair today.
