Think Your Home Belongs to You? Think Again.

After the 9/11 attacks, Americans were promised that the World Trade Center would be re-built and the Deutsche Bank Building, damaged by same, would be torn down. Almost eight years later, neither task has been accomplished. So what's this got to do with the cap-and-trade bill? Plenty.

In their rush to get legislation passed that no one had read, House Democrats included a clause regarding most Americans' largest investment: at some point in the near future, all existing homes will require an audit by a government bureaucrat to determine if they are "energy efficient enough" to allow their sale.

In a federal government beset by massive corruption–and there is no other term to describe people who pass laws they can't even be bothered to read–the cap-and-trade bill represents the largest intrusion of government meddling in the private sector in the history of the country. When Americans already reeling under the massive devaluation of their homes are forced to spend more money to satisfy such requirements, two realities that apparently elude the arrogant asses running the country into the ground will inevitably occur: massive corruption and gross inefficiency.

Take a good look at the opening paragraph. Despite billions of dollars in funding and the goodwill of virtually the entire American public, government–local, state and federal combined–has been unable to tear down ONE building and re-build ONE other building in Lower Manhattan for almost eight years. Now, take such gross governmental incompetence, spread it across the entire country, and impose it on millions of Americans trying to buy and sell homes.

Ask yourself what's easier, buying brand new energy efficient windows for your entire house, e.g.–or bribing some government hack to look the other way? Which is the more likely scenario, having efficient, well-trained inspectors showing up at your house in a timely manner–or watching a sale fall through because of a government backlog of undone inspections? How hard is it to imagine a government "promise" that it will be "no more than six months" until some puffed-up with-power government pissant "gets around" to your particular residence and does his job?

Can't happen? It IS happening, courtesy of a Congress and a president for whom the Constitution and the free-enterprise system are little more than minor impediments to imposing their "vision" on all of us, like it or not.

Question: if that vision is so righteous and compelling, why does it require coercion? Why did it require passing a bill, unread, in the middle of the night? Why does it require the suppression of thousands of scientists who believe man-made global warming is a complete crock?

Once again, as many car dealers screwed by the government takeover of GM already realize, we are facing a future where who you know in government counts more than the rule of law. It is on the public record that some dealerships slated to be closed were "saved" after their owners contacted officials in the House of Representatives.

Currying favor with government officials in order to get special privileges is the essence of totalitarianism. And it's precisely what will happen when Americans, desperate to sell their homes, find themselves faced with a government whose track record of corruption and ineptitude is undeniable. It is precisely what our drunk-with-power president and members of Congress desire: the groveling of ordinary Americans as a testament to government's level of importance.

Sadly, most people who will read this column already get it. The rest? The Silent Majority has been replaced by the Comatose Majority, the one which couldn't care less about what's going on in Washington D.C.–unless Michael Jackson gets buried there.

We're all about to get buried by these jackboot "do-gooders."

Now if GW had done this..................................but then again GANGSTAPUPPETOTUSPOS was preoccupied with Michael's passing and just could not concentrate.  3x.

If you decide to sell YOUR house a "federal agency must inspect it" for energy efficiency standards they have set (California new home).  If it does not comply, YOU must make whatever changes they deem and pay for it before YOU can sell your home. 

So if they don't like your doors, windows, walls, heating A/C, insulation, water fixtures (toilets, faucets), appliances, etc. you can't sell.

 F'ing GDm change you can believe in!  Write your senators!

Wethe People want to make clear our displeasure with your actions. Your vote in the House of Representatives to pass this bill is a bittershock to all regular people across the nation. We expected you to dobetter than that.

We do not care what pressure you are under.You are paid to do a job – so do it. It is plain to us out here, livingin our homes and trying to make it from month to month, that many ofyou are either incapable or unwilling to do the job you are being paidto do. That’s unfortunate because your actions recently have resultedin higher unemployment and greater hardships for the American family.

Whatyou have done in allowing Cap and Trade (H.R. 2454) to go to the Senatewas essentially a vote against the people whom you allegedly represent.These are the same people who have seen their retirement fundsdisappear into other people’s pockets. They are the same people who canclearly see that their grocery bills are increasing. They see the priceof gas increasing and their rights and freedoms and privacy beingeroded. These are the same people who view with distaste the lies andtwisted doublespeak by elected officials and the sneering contempt withwhich these same officials refer to their people’s protests. But mostimportantly, these are the same people who will hire or fire you.

Whileyou, in your higher comfortable income bracket, may find the death ofAmerican industries amusing, we the people do not. You may not havetrouble paying your household utilities, purchasing food for yourfamily, or putting gas in your car to drive to work, but we do – and wecan see that your actions are not going to make this any easier. The morons that voted YES in the house of representatives are as stupid as the people that voted for GANGSTAPUPPETOTUSPOS.   It is clear these morons don't care a bit for the USAmerican people.  DO YOU KNOW HOW I KNOW THIS?  Because it was humanly impossible for anyone of these morons to have read or understood the 1300 pgs of this bill, since 300pgs of changes were added this morning a 3AM! Pelosi also broke the 24hr promise of letting the American people view it,  before they vote.  Just like the sheeple that voted for GANGSTAPUPPETOTUSPOS who voted unknowingly for a marxist.

They just raised the average familys' annual expenses by $1500.00 to $3000.00.  In other words your taxes just went up significantly.  Another broken campaign promise,  hope and change,  $ucker$!!!!!

"The American Clean Energy and Security Act, better known asWaxman-Markey for its sponsors, is being rushed to a vote in what hasbecome a trademark move for the Pelosi-Reid Congress. The key componentof the bill is a cap and trade scheme for controlling greenhouse gasses.

Criticsof the bill claim the cap and trade plan will tax energy usage acrossthe board, which will hit taxpayers both directly in their own energyconsumption and indirectly through increased cost in the production ofgoods.

Even supporters of the bill seem to be doing so from asense of "something is better than nothing", but see many flaws in thelegislation. An article by Yale Environment 360calls out two primary weaknesses. The first is that concessions toindustrial lobbies has lowered the greenhouse gas reduction targets tothe point of irrelevance. The second is the removal from the EPA of theauthority to regulate emissions from coal plants.

There are other controversial points as well. According to Investor's Business Daily, the act would pay companies, domestic and foreign to notcut down trees. This component is suprising from an administration thathas so often and loudly decried the transfer of American wealthoverseas.

At the heart of the battle over Waxman-Markey is theactual impact of the legislation on taxpayers and the economy. TheCongressional Budget Office cites the impact on the average householdas about $175 per year. Yet the CBO's own report adds a disclaimer in a footnotestating, "The resource cost does not indicate the potential decrease ingross domestic product (GDP) that could result from the cap." In fact,the Wall Street Journal points out, the report "contains so manycaveats as to render it useless."

The Heritage Foundationestimates that the bill would result in 2 million jobs lost when theact takes effect in 2012, and would remove $9.3 trillion from the GDPby 2035. The additional national debt incurred would add an estimated$115,000 per household, and cost each household $4600 in additionalenergy and consumer costs by 2035.

According to the Wall StreetJournal, even though Democrats are publicly promising no burdensomeeconomic impacts, they are privately acknowledging the potential forsignificant impact and are determined to go ahead anyway: "During thebrief few days in which the bill was debated in the House EnergyCommittee, Republicans offered three amendments: one to suspend theprogram if gas hit $5 a gallon; one to suspend the program ifelectricity prices rose 10% over 2009; and one to suspend the programif unemployment rates hit 15%. Democrats defeated all of them."

TheWall Street Journal concedes that it is difficult to estimate theactual impact of the bill, and therefore suggest looking at the UnitedKingdom, which already has many green taxes and carbon-cuttingprograms. Independent studies there indicate that these measures costBritish taxpayers as much as $1300 per year for an average family.

DuringWorld War II Americans would respond to wasteful activities with thecriticism, "Don't you know there's a war on?!" This could become thenew battlecry as the Obama administration continues to push bill afterbill with enormous potential price tags even while spending even moremoney to shore up the economy. Faced with an over-ambitious andcounterproductive White House agenda, it may be time for Americans tocry, "Don't you know there's a recession on?!"

The healthcare initiative by GANGSTAPUPPETOTUSPOS was exposed for what it really is last night.  Socio medical engineering by the fascist jaCka$$  govt. in charge now.  He said it!  If you are sick and THEY DECIDE you won't be helped.  YOU DIE FASTER!   So hurry up and die you old people.
