Trumpology: What will happen in 2024? ?

Trumpology

Former President Donald Trump has signaled he will announce his presidential intentions after the November midterm elections. Yet his record of endorsements is quite mixed. By the sheer numbers of winning primary candidates his stamp of approval is impressive, but in a few of the most important races, not so much.

The disaster that is the Biden Administration has been a godsend for Trump. Had President Joe Biden simply plagiarized the successful Trump agenda, there would have followed no border disaster, no energy crisis, no hyperinflation, and no disastrous flight from Afghanistan.

Had Biden followed through on his "unity"rhetoric, he could have lorded over Trump’s successful record as his own, while contrasting his Uncle-Joe ecumenicalism with supposed Trump’s polarization.

Of course, serious people knew from the start that was utterly impossible. A cognitively challenged Biden was a captive of ideologues. Thus, he was bound to pursue an extremist agenda that could only end as it now has — in disaster and record low polls.

Still, how ironic that the Biden catastrophe revived a Trump candidacy. Biden likely will cause the Democrats to lose Congress. His pick of a dismal Kamala Harris as vice president has likely ensured, for now, fewer viable Democratic presidential candidates in 2024.

Market monthly update

Another volatile month for the markets is in the books. With the recent stock upturn, unemployment staying low, inflation possibly peaking, and corporate profitability continuing strong (Walmart & Target excepted), some may ask whether the markets are now making a bottom? As we discuss in the attached report it is too inconclusive to tell, but we venture to think we are closer to the bottom than to much more downside distress. We all wish inflation did not hit us as hard at stores and the gas pump, yet indications are consumers are undaunted and we expect a robust summer travel season as people cut loose after 2+ years of fear and lockdowns of one kind or another. Everyone’s grown tired of not seeing the grandkids, not taking vacations, and not living normal lives…all of which means getting out and spending money.

We aren’t totally sanguine, and worries still abound – the Russian aggression in Ukraine and its global oil market impacts, continued inflation and supply chain problems (try to get a refrigerator delivered lately), and housing becoming even more unaffordable as interest rates rise. Time will tell the direction of the markets and economy as these opposing forces battle it out.

We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the terrible event in Uvalde Texas. Our hearts go out to the community, but especially the parents of the innocent young children murdered senselessly, in yet another tragedy. Treasure what you have every day.

Your next Saturday morning smile!! :-)

Your next Sturday morning smile!!!
An old man walks into a barber shop for a shave and a haircut, but he
tells the barber he can't get all the whiskers off because his cheeks
are wrinkled from age. The barber gets a little wooden ball from a cup
on the shelf and tells him to put it inside his cheek to spread out the
skin. When he's finished, the old man says that was the cleanest shave
he's had in years. But he wanted to know what would have happened if he had swallowed that little ball. The barber replied:
"Just bring it back to me in a couple of days like everyone else does."

WW11 major 'Malmedy Massacre' of 84 POW American troops during Battle of the Bulge, Belgium

December 17, 1944

According to various verified accounts, the Germans opened deadly fire on the unarmed prisoners in a field, a barbarous retaliation killing of more than 84 in what came to be known as the Malmedy Massacre, which was outside of the International  Geneva accords

This  Malmedy massacre was a German war crime committed by soldiers of the Waffen-SS on 17 December 1944, at the Baugnez crossroads near the city of Malmedy, Belgium, during the Battle of the Bulge.
