Draw was 863

No hit. Should have been A > 3, B = 0-9, and C >= 3

I wheeled this one blind (no access to particular game stats). I will check later, but stats may have indicated that

the 3 in position C was due for a repeat.

Entry #8

August 13th IN EVE Pick 3

Indiana Pick 3 - Evening (a.k.a. Daily) August 13, 2009

The last daily draw was 996. The previous draw to that was a double too.

Right off, the odds are way up that the next draw will be a straight combination.

I will filter triples and doubles on this workout.

Using the plus / minus system on each column of the last draw will be a huge amount
of numbers.

Let's just go with the expected,

Wheel

A less than 9
B less than 9
C less than 6

to play it safe, I might even look at including the same draw, making A = 0 to 9, B = 0 to 9, and C 0 to 6.

I can just see those nines repeating, especially since in the last 60 draws, the nines in column A have not
repeated like the long term percentage.

B is long term 88% lower and just recently had a 9 repeater. It could repeat again but odds are that it will
be lower.

So now we are at A = 0 to 9, B = 0 to 8

C for 6 long term is lower 52% of the time and higher 35% of the time and the same right at 13%

In the last 60 draws C was lower 17%, higher 50% of the time and the same 33% of the time.

This one is hard to make a decision on. The numbers want to balance so C "should" be lower.

<snip>, the 1 and 3 are really "due" in position C.

I may just end up choosing 1, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 for C.

Looking at the recent draws in boxed shows 1 really being due in the low column. The 9 looks like a repeat in the
high column. Hard to tell for the middle number - it usually ranges from 0 to 9.

That scenario wheeled gives 310 numbers.
I filtered out doubles and triples. I filtered out LDR = 4 and Root sums of 6 and sum 24.

Winning Pick 3 Straight

Yesterday, I did my workout for the Indiana Pick 3 Midday using the Higher and Lower rules (the general ones).

I generated 2 sets of numbers from the previous Midday number drawn of 373.

The first set was based on A being greater than 3, B less than 7 and C being greater than 3. Using positional wheeling, I filtered out triples and sum 13 as well as root 4.

This gave me 222 numbers.

The second set was done basically the same but using the premise that A and B could be equal or greater than. Same filtering. This gave me 300 numbers.

Then I did a third workout based on specific stats (mentioned in my update to this blog yesterday) and determined that the first column was probably going to be the same or lower than 3.

The rest looked like it would follow the normal probabilites so B was less than 7 and C greater than or equal to 3. I ended up with 174 straight numbers to play.

Today's Midday draw was 219! So I got a straight hit.

If I was playing with real money, I would have made a profit of $326.

I know everyone says that 174 numbers is too many picks but I think if you are playing for straight wins then you really can't get around it. The only way this system will be profitable is to figure out when not to play.

I am so glad that I looked positionally at the past draws in column A for the number 3 to determine where things stood statistically.

I will keep doing the workouts using this system and trying to refine it.

Entry #4

Update to Hitting Pick 3 Straight

I hope I am getting a handle on this! Yesterday's (7/27/09) Indiana Midday draw was 495.

I wheeled position A for numbers greater than 4, B for numbers less than 9 and position C for numbers less than 5.

Today's draw was 373 - which wasn't in the mix I wheeled.

New Rule: If a draw starts with a 4 or 5 then do not play that day.

In looking at the past draws for IN midday, I noticed the middle numbers repeat pretty often. So I am going to run stats to see if I need to alter the rules a bit.

For example, one of the rules is that if the number is 0 to 3 then the next number will be higher. So for today's draw (373) that means for position A, I would wheel 4 to 9. The stats may point out that the numbers may repeat on top of themselves quite frequently and if that's the case then I need to wheel 3 to 9.

Or in other words, include the number of the last draw.

It will mean more numbers but will cover those repeats.

Rule 1

If a previous draw has number 0 to 3 then there is generally, a 70% plus chance of the next number in the same position being a higher number.

Rule 2

If a previous draw has number 6 to 9 then there is generally, a 70% plus chance of the next number in the same position being a lower number.

Rule 3

If a previous draw has number 4 or 5 then there is generally, a 50% chance that the next number will be lower or higher.

Rule 4

If a previous draw starts with a 4 or 5 then do not play that day.

After I run these stats, those rules may be modified slightly.

OK - I have the Midday stats run.

One of the things that it shows is that there are a percentage of repeat numbers. So for example if the first number is a 3 and the stats show that the next number will be higher 67% of the time and a repeat 7% of the time and lower 26% of the time then you just look at the last 4 or 5 instances of that number to see what happened and then play accordingly.

For instance, if the past 4 draws of the number 3 show the next number was higher in each instance then you know that the odds are that the current 3 will be followed by a number lower or be the same number.

If you do this for each column then it will really help improve the odds of picking the correct group of numbers to wheel positionally.

Entry #3

Hitting Pick 3 Straights

This system analyzes the draw per position.

The first thing I did was to create a spreadsheet with the days of the month in the first row.

Then I put the numbers 0-9 in the first column three times (with a row separating each 0-9 group).

Then I went through the past draws and put an X in each cell for that day. So if the draw was 369, I put an X in the first group at 3, an X in the second group at 6 and the final X in the third group at 9.

This allows me to see the pattern for each number in each group.

In analyzing the numbers, I disovered that if the number in a column is 0-3 then the next draw in that column will be a higher number 70% to 80%+ of the time.

If the number in a column is 6-9 then the next draw in that column will be a lower number 70% to 80%+ of the time.

If the number is a 4 or 5 then it appears that it can go either way.

I then do some positional wheeling using those rules. I filter out triples and I filter out the last draw sum and root sum.

Normally this leaves a couple of hundred numbers but the next draw straight will be there 70% to 80% of the time.

If the first column of the draw is a 4 or 5 then you should probably not play that day.

If the second or third column is a 4 or 5 then it might be a good idea to wheel all the digits in those positions since you don't know if the number will be higher or lower. However, you could end up with 500+ numbers which is not profitable.

Another filter that can be used is to look for sums that are due or root sums that are due.

I am still working on refining this straight system.

Tracking The Pluses and Minuses

I wrote a computer program that calculates a Pick 3 number (using lottery math) by iterating each position (A, B, and C) by adding or subtracting 0, 1, 2 or 3.

There are a total of 343 different combinations. So I took the draw history for Indiana's Pick 3 (Midday and Evening combined) and for each draw I had the program calculate a number.

I then took each number and searched forward in the draw history to identify box and straight hits. Then I started to analyze which pattern (+ -) resulted in the most hits.

There are a lot of patterns for Indiana. So I started analyzing some more and determined some general patterns which I then applied.

So, this morning I was working on this and came up with this group of 71 numbers:

631 136 163 361 635 356 365 437 734 743
436 346 364 236 263 362 531 351 568 865
430 340 457 745 458 845 769 967 760 067
869 968 039 930 936 963 836 863 735 753
345 354 567 439 467 741 751 835 831 841
851 867 860 861 935 931 037 036 047 048
057 058 830 732 731 130 230 342 341 352
350

Checked the Midday results and saw that the 037 hit straight.

Most of the hits happen between one or two days so this group of numbers may have a few more box and/or straights in them for the next two days.

I added the 037 to my draw file and redid the calculations using the general pattern filter and came up with these 44 numbers:

934 349 967 769 834 348 867 768 735 357
745 754 756 765 345 354 356 365 930 830
736 738 739 746 748 749 740 758 759 750
134 130 167 234 230 267 346 347 340 358
359 350 368 369

Out of these two groups of numbers, I am hoping for another straight in the evening draw tonight. We will see.

This system puts out a ton of box hits and quite a few straights. I will start working on other states soon to see if there are more concise patterns.
