Blind Trust Followup #2

It has been nearly a year since I contacted the state Delegate in my district.  Of course, I have not heard a peep out of him concerning my questions of privacy upon winning a jackpot.

Lots of cash goes into the Virginia school system.  I support that noble gesture with a few lottery tickets now and then.

However, I do not support voting for someone who has avoided answering my query.  Therefore, I will exercise my American right and just not vote for the current occupier of the seat in my district.

Probably, the best thing to do is not to be concerned about the issue at a pre-win level.  I certainly am not going to pay a lawyer for advice at this point.

It's time to move on to more potentially solveable problems such as calculating pi  to infinity.

From the 'olplugger, have a great day!!

Blind Trust Follow-up

Here it is November 19, 2010!  I still have heard nothing from the Virginia Delegate about the blind trust laws in Virginia.  However, he is not my Delegate and perhaps he has sent the inquiry on to the Delegate in my district.  I'm sure we all know how government is supposed to work versus how it really works.  So, I am still waiting.  In the meantime I intend to do additional research on the 'net.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Is the Blind Trust an option?

What will you do if you win the 'big one' in Virginia or any other state for that matter?  The blind trust might be an excellent option for jackpot winners.

The way I understand the blind trust is it provides anonymity for the winner.  That is a very simplified explanation.  After all, who would want everyone in the universe asking for a piece of your lottery pie?

I am waiting for a reply from the Virginia state Delegate who can answer the question, "Does Virginia allow the blind trust option, and if not, then why not?"  A Google search did not produce any concrete answers; so it was time to ask a Delegate.

As soon as I hear something I will post it here in my blog.  Please post any information you might have about states other than Virginia concerning the blind trust for lottery winners.

A Fortunate Error

Occasionally an error can be a good thing.  Sometimes my mind starts to drift after a few hours of looking at numbers. That happened yesterday (9/24) when I was marking play slips for the Mega Millions game.  No, I didn't hit the jackpot, but I did hit 3 numbers twice.  I marked the same set of numbers two times instead of only one time.  So, a $7 win doubled to $14.  Oddly the bet was $7!  I was shocked!

In this case an error brought good fortune.  However, I would call my experience in this event a true rarity that seldom happens.  Just thought I would share this for whatever reason.  Thank you for reading the ramblings of 'olplugger.

May you have a blessed day. Type

Virginia Pick-3 for August 13, 2010 Afternoon Draw

My predictions for today are at:  https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/218908

I am not suggesting you play or not play these 11 sets.  In all probability the plays you choose today are just as good as mine; or even better!  However, I may actually 'invest' in these today, $.50 boxed.  It is Friday the 13th today.  For some, that may be looked upon as a day of bad luck.  Personally for me, it's just another day.

OLPLUGGER - Introducing myself to the LP Community

Hello to whomever may be reading my first effort at blogging!

Currently retired, I have an interest in lottery algorithmic strategies. In the past 10-15 years I have looked at just about every published method of selecting Pick-3 numbers. The answer is just not there in any of those systems; at least, in the ones I have examined so far!  Then why have I spent the time looking at 'systems'?  I look for bits of knowledge - small fragments that just might have some value to incorporate in my own workouts.

While I am NOT searching for the Holy Pick-3 Grail, I sincerely think there are avenues we have not walked down.  I also think that what might work for P-3 just might work in other games of chance.

I would be willing to work with someone who might have the same or similar
goal as mine . . . that is, creating a workout based on statistics and science.
Private Message me if you have any interest.

Thanks for reading my blog.  Hoping to add more later!
