Mega Millions

A single ticket has won the grand prize in the Tuesday evening Mega Millions lottery drawing.

Lottery officials say the winning ticket from Tuesday night's drawing — worth $24 million — was sold in Baltimore, Md.

Maryland Lottery Director Buddy Roogow says the ticket was sold at 6:22 p.m. Tuesday at Carroll Station, a convenience store.  Coincidentally, the store is about four blocks from the lottery headquarters.

The identify of the winning ticket holder is not known.  Roogow says the player used the lottery computer to pick the winning numbers.

The store owner will receive $25,000 for selling the winning numbers.

In addition to the grand prize winner, three tickets matched all five numbers but not the Mega Ball number:  1 from California, 1 from New York, and 1 from Virginia.  The New York and Virginia winners will receive second prizes of $250,000 each, and the California winner will receive $136,486.

Another 21 tickets matched four numbers, plus the Mega Ball number — good for third prizes of $10,000 each ($5,317 in California).

Additional information about the drawing, including a link to the drawing video, can be found at yesterday's USA Mega drawing information page:  http://www.usamega.com/mega-millions-drawing.asp?d=9/9/2008

The winning numbers from Tuesday night's drawing were: 22, 23, 28, 49 and 52. The Mega Ball number was 2.

The Texas Megaplier was 3.

Congrats to them, I figured it'd be a quick/easy pick. Convenient that they were so close to the Lottery HQ. Hopefully with this early winner we'll have it roll over a good number of times again before someone wins again.

The ticket was sold in a part of the city that is known as Pigtown. The bar owner have been featured on the local news... www.wjz.com

You would think that she won the whole thing.  Congratulations to them all.

I would like to see a $200M jackpot at least.

I miss the exitement of a $300M jackpot.

And a $400M record jackpot...let's not go there.

I'll be content just to try to play for a $200M now...

Well, I was off.  I think I picked Michigan to get it.....well, at least I got the startes with an M state.  I too would like to see the jackpot get REAL BIG again.  The problem?  It makes me a big ol' ball of nerves.

As it rises...I get happy.  Every time I see "there was NO jackpot winner!  The next jackpot will be....." I just think "good.  No one stole my money...yet".  But the problem is, the bigger the jackpot gets the more nervous I get.  Someones gonna big very very rich.....and I'm sure it won't be me.  How much should I spend.  Maybe I spent $10 and got nothing, so I should of spent $20...$30...and so on.

I"ve just decided that if I were meant to win, I'd win off of my $5 ticket.  Then I cry like a baby when I hear the winner of the BIG BIG BIG jackpot.  UGGGG! Starting from scratch...again.

I'm giving my hubby some $ to get me some PB tickets on his business trip to Idaho this Friday.  Maybe I'll have some luck.  That would be a nice surprise!

As for Maryland..........Congrats! Congrats! Congrats!

We have a lot in common (regarding your second paragraph)!

I still think WASHINGTON is due to win the big one...so hang in there.

Hey, at least it wasn't Georgia this time!

So very true! lol Next time huh?  For Ga. I mean. lol

I once said I felt like an unlucky state, and someone reminded me it could happen anywhere, which is true.  But the point I was making was.........if you lived in Ga. and you had a JP winner.......then 2 months later another JP winner.....again maybe 4 months later...you'd maybe think a little more that it could happent to you.  Make sense? No lol probably not. But I'm using it as an example.  Getting to win the JP one time a year would be consideded lucky.  Its been 2 years next month for us, so I made the comment "we're an unlucky state."

Maybe maybe!  We'll see!  But  Ohio looks good!!!!!!!!!  Hope you get lucky!!!!!
